Philadelphia Phillies Fantasy Spin
J.T. Realmuto hit a two-run home run in Thursday’s loss to the Rockies. Realmuto had a little inside-out swing in the seventh inning that carried out to right field, bounding off the top of the high wall and into the stands for a two-run blast. He’s now got three homers on the year, including two in his last three games, as the 28-year-old gets settled in Philly. Through Thursday, Realmuto is slashing .277/.342/.462 with 15 RBI and 13 runs scored.
Colorado Rockies Fantasy Spin
David Dahl went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run scored in his return from the injured list Thursday against the Phillies. Dahl started in center field and batted second, 10 days after he hit the shelf for a left side/core injury sustained while taking a swing earlier this month. Dahl showed few signs of rust, even attempting — and failing — to steal a base in the contest. The 25-year-old is hitting .342/.395/.632 in 11 games this year and could be a beast offensively, if he can just stay on the field.
MLB Betting Trends
Philadelphia
The Phillies are 8-20 in Vincent Velasquez’s last 28 road starts.
Colorado
The Rockies are 15-7 in German Marquez’s last 22 starts.
Prediction:
Velasquez owns a 2.25 ERA through two starts but he’s a fly-ball pitcher that gives up hard contact. Those two things don’t work well for pitchers at Coors and the Rockies are red-hot. While expensive at -150 on the money line, Marquez has a high strikeout rate, generates plenty of ground balls and is off to an excellent start in 2019.
The Pick: Colorado Rockies -150
