Chicago White Sox Fantasy Spin
Yoan Moncada (head) went 0-for-5 with a pair of strikeouts in Thursday’s loss to the Tigers. Moncada had to exit Wednesday’s game after being hit in the head with the ball on a stolen base attempt, but he passed concussion tests and is fine. It’s just the fourth hitless game so far this season for the hot-hitting infielder.
Detroit Tigers Fantasy Spin
Nicholas Castellanos went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI to lead the Tigers to a 9-7 win over the White Sox on Thursday. Castellanos dealt with a hand injury last month and a sprained toe over the last week, so he isn’t off to the best of starts. Still, one imagines the numbers will be there in the end. He upped his average to .279 today and doubled his RBI count for the season.
MLB Betting Trends
Chicago
The White Sox are 26-54 in the last 80 meetings with the Tigers at Comerica.
Detroit
The over is a perfect 11-0 in Jordan Zimmermann’s last 11 starts against the White Sox.
Prediction:
While it is an extremely small sample size, Zimermann owns an 8.31 ERA and a .77 wOBA allowed at Comerica Park this year. White Sox slugger Jose Abreu owns a .435 average over 25 career plate appearances versus Zimmermann, which includes four extra-base hits (a double, a triple, two home runs) and just two strikeouts. Meanwhile, The Tigers haven’t hit well and will face Chicago starter Carlos Rodon tonight, who could be on the verge of realizing his full potential. Rodon just went six innings against the Yankees in his last start and has posted nine strikeouts in two of his four starts.
The Pick: Chicago White Sox -107
