Peters coming off excellent start for Marlins
Dillon Peters pitched well in Friday’s victory over the Pirates, allowing just two runs on four hits over six strong innings.
The 25-year-old left-hander struck out three and walked two on the evening. The only blemish on his night was a two-run blast off the bat of Elias Diaz in the fifth inning.
With the victory, he improves to 2-1 on the season, though he sports an underwhelming 6.75 ERA and 1.70 WHIP.
Brewers’ Anderson also coming off strong performance
Chase Anderson surrendered one run on two hits over 6 1/3 innings in Saturday’s win over the Mets.
Anderson kept the Mets off the scoreboard altogether until Yoenis Cespedes broke the spell with an RBI single in the sixth inning. That would finish as the lone run the Mets managed in the 5-1 defeat. He’s now tossed at least six innings in three of four starts, allowing two or fewer runs in each of those longer outings.
Anderson will look to keep it going when he brings his 2.82 ERA and 0.99 WHIP into a home start against the Marlins tonight.
MLB Betting Trends
Miami
The Marlins are 4-1 in Peters’ last five starts but have lost 11 of their last 13 games overall.
Milwaukee
The Brewers are 7-3 in Anderson’s last 10 home starts and have won four of his last five outings overall.
Prediction:
I like the under in this spot. The Brewers could only muster two runs per game against a bad Cincinnati pitching staff in a hitter-friendly park this week and Peters has looked sharp in the early going. The Marlins also don’t scare anyone offensively and Anderson is coming off a fine performance as well. The under is 7-0 in Anderson’s last seven starts and is 13-6-1 in his last 20 home outings.
The Pick: Marlins/Brewers under 8.5
