Darvish took the loss in his season debut despite allowing just one run on four hits in last Saturday’s defeat versus the A’s. He struck out five and walked three across six innings, but Texas’ offense was stifled by Oakland’s Kendall Graveman.
Nolasco held the Mariners to two runs on four hits over six innings last Saturday. He walked one and struck out three but didn’t factor in the decision. Home runs continue to be a problem for Nolasco, as he surrendered another one after allowing two on Opening Day. But Nolasco still limited the damage and now has a 3.86 ERA through two starts.
