Los Angeles Angels Fantasy Spin
Justin Bour singled in two runs Wednesday in the Angels’ 4-2 win over the Brewers. The Angels didn’t do much offensively with Mike Trout absent, but what they did do was well timed; they put five straight men on base in the third inning and scored all four of their runs then. The offense totaled two hits and no walks in the other seven innings.
Chicago Cubs Fantasy Spin
Daniel Descalso went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, a stolen base and a run scored in Thursday’s win over the Pirates. Descalso plated what would end up being the game-winning run in the seventh inning with a single off Bucs starter Joe Musgrove. He came around to score one batter later on a Victor Caratini double. The steal was the first of the year for the second baseman, who’s hitting a surprising .333/.389/.485 in his first 33 at-bats of the year.
MLB Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Angels have lost five of Tyler Skagg’s last seven starts.
Chicago
The Cubs have beaten the Angels four straight times and are 4-1 in their last five games versus the Halos at Wrigley Field.
Prediction:
The Cubs have not been profitable when Hamels pitches, so there’s some value with a hot Angels team this afternoon. In Hamels’ last five outings, the Cubs are just 1-4. In his last four outings following a Quality Start in his last appearance, the Cubs are winless at 0-4. Tyler Skaggs struggled in his first start of the year but rebounded against the Rangers, who struggle to hit left-handed pitching. Chicago has struggled against lefties as well.
The Pick: Los Angeles Angels +140
