White Sox vs. Yankees Friday Prediction
The Yankees couldn’t wait to get out of Houston, where they just got swept by the Astros over three games. They’ll look to get back on track this weekend against the White Sox when they open a new series with Chicago tonight. Will Game 1 turn high-scoring?

Chicago White Sox Fantasy Spin
Tim Anderson chipped in with two hits in Wednesday’s loss to the Rays. It was an afternoon to forget for the struggling Pale Hose but at least Anderson showed up to play, supplying two of the White Sox’s six hits in a 9-1 rout. Anderson also bagged his fourth steal while committing his third error of the young season. The 25-year-old has been among the league’s hottest hitters in the early going, leading all of baseball with a .514 average. That won’t last but even when the candles blow out on his blistering hot streak, Anderson’s power/speed combo should keep him in the upper echelon of fantasy shortstops.
New York Yankees Fantasy Spin
Gleyber Torres went 2-for-5 and scored two runs during a loss to the Astros on Wednesday. He led off the fourth with a double and eventually scored on a DJ LeMahieu sacrifice fly. He singled in the eighth before LeMahieu drove him in again, this time with a double. There are no signs of a sophomore slump to this point for Torres — in fact his .313/.365/.583 slash rate is significantly better than his .271/.340/.480 line from last year that enabled him to finish third in the race for the American League Rookie of the Year award.
MLB Betting Trends
Chicago
The White Sox are just 10-21 in their last 31 games against the Yankees.
New York
The Yankees have beaten the White Sox in 35 of the previous 51 meetings in the Bronx.
Prediction:
The Yankees are going to take out some frustrations tonight against the White Sox but the problem for bettors is that you’ll have to lay a heavy number to take New York on the money line and there’s not much value in the Bombers’ runline either. That said, the over is 5-0 in Lucas Giolito’s last five starts overall and is 5-1 in his six outings versus AL East teams. The over is also 5-1 in the Yankees’ last six games overall and is 5-2 in their last seven games following a loss. The Yankees will have to do the heavy lifting for us tonight but at least the White Sox have a couple of hot bats, including Anderson, as highlighted above.
The Pick: White Sox/Yankees OVER 9.5
