Washington Nationals Fantasy Spin
Victor Robles went 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday’s extra-innings win over the Phillies. Before they scored 10 runs in the top of the 10th inning, the Nats were down to their last strike in the ninth until Robles caught a hanging breaking ball from Phillies reliever Edubray Ramos and deposited it over the left-center field wall to tie the game. In extras, Robles added an RBI double for good measure. He’s hitting at the bottom of the Nats’ lineup but it’s hard to imagine that going on for much longer, with the 21-year-old now hitting .324/.410/.706 with three homers and a stolen base through 10 games. Get this man a premium spot in the lineup, stat.
Philadelphia Phillies Fantasy Spin
Bryce Harper hit a three-run home run in Tuesday’s loss to the Nationals. Harper gave Phillies fans something to cheer about when he lifted a Stephen Strasburg offering the other way, knocking it out to left-center field for a three-run shot in the third inning. The dinger was his fourth of the year and his first since he homered in three consecutive games starting in late March. With the blast, the 26-year-old is now hitting .333/.511/.788 in his first 10 games in a Phillies uniform.
MLB Betting Trends
Washington
The Nationals have lost four of Jeremey Hellickson’s last five road starts.
Philadelphia
The Phillies have won nine of their last 12 games overall.
Prediction:
I don’t expect the Phillies to rebound quickly from that loss last night. They had that thing sewed up until an error in the seventh led to a few runs for the Nationals. Down to their last strike, Washington tied the game when Robles took Ramos deep and then the Nats poured it on the ninth. Robles, Juan Soto and Yan Gomes are all hot and the Nationals are 4-1 in their last five meetings with the Phillies in Philadelphia. The Phillies are also winless in Nick Pivetta’s last six starts versus the Nats.
The Pick: Washington Nationals +133
