Dodgers Season Odds
After re-signing outfielder Manny Ramirez, the Los Angeles Dodgers became one of the dark horses to emerge from the National League this season.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBG Global have made the Dodgers 14/1 long shots to win the 2009 World Series and established their National League Pennant odds at 7/1.
Thanks to Ramirez, the Dodgers have one of the more feared lineups in the National League, but youngsters like Andre Either and Matt Kemp need to step up and produce. Adding quality bat like Orlando Hudson helped this offseason and guys like James Loney and Casey Blake offer a strong veteran presence.
The pitching staff has a ton of question marks, but if youngster Clayton Kershaw can develop quickly like most believe, the unit should be okay. The Dodgers also have one of the more intriguing young closers in the game in Jonathan Broxton.
The Diamondbacks have one of the best pitching rotations in the National League, but the Dodgers are still favorites in the West because of their offense. If Manny can be Manny and produce in the middle of the order, than the Dodgers could be a sleeper and a true value at 20/1.
