NEW YORK (TheSpread) – The New York Yankees look to bounce back from their season-opening loss today at 7:05PM ET when they face the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Yankees have Michael Pineda on the mound to face R.A. Dickey of the Jays. Toronto picked up a 6-1 win in the season opener on Monday thanks to a strong outing on the mound from Drew Hutchison, who held the Yankees to three hits and one run over six innings. Russell Martin and Edwin Encarnacion each drove in two runs to lead the Toronto hitters.
According to the latest oddsmakers, New York is the favorite at home, as the Yankees are getting odds of -140 to win against the Jays today, while Toronto has a money line of +120 to prevail. The over/under total for the game has been set at 7.5 runs.
With Monday’s win, Toronto has now won six of its last 10 meetings with the Yankees. The road team has won just two of the last seven in the series, but both wins came by the Jays. These two have now hit the under in five of their last seven meetings as well. Toronto has struggled in New York historically, going just 13-39 in their last 52 visits to the Bronx.
