New York Yankees Fantasy Spin
Aaron Judge finished 1-for-3 with an RBI single and a walk Wednesday against the Tigers. The Yankees struck out 18 times in the loss, including one from Judge. His third-inning single was the only offense of the game for New York. Judge is still looking for his first homer, but he’s hitting .333 (7-for-21) with a .481 on-base percentage on the young season.
Baltimore Orioles Fantasy Spin
Trey Mancini finished 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in a loss to the Blue Jays on Wednesday. His ninth-inning blast off Daniel Hudson was the only offense of the game for the O’s, who had their four-game winning streak snapped. Nothing gold can stay. The 27-year-old Mancini has been the Orioles’ hottest hitter in the early going, batting .417 (10-for-24) with three homers and eight RBI. He’s hit safely in all six games. His penchant for putting the ball on the ground makes it hard to be optimistic about his power potential, even in a hitter-friendly home stadium, but he would be pretty interesting in fantasy leagues if he could get the ball in the air more often.
MLB Betting Trends
New York
The Yankees are 5-0 in their last five games versus the Orioles in Baltimore and are 7-3 in their last 10 games versus the O’s overall.
Baltimore
The Orioles are 1-10 in Alex Cobb’s last 11 home starts and are 8-20 in his last 28 outings overall.
Prediction:
The Yankees have gotten off to a slow start this season but their offense is capable of putting crooked numbers on the board in any inning. They’re also facing a pitcher today in Cobb, who is a low-strikeout pitcher who relies on a high ground ball rate. While Giancarlo Stanton is out, Brett Gardner, Aaron Judge, Luke Voit, Greg Bird and Gary Sanchez will provide more than enough offense against Cobb.
The Pick: New York Yankees OVER 4.5 (-130) Runs
