Milwaukee Brewers Fantasy Spin
Lorenzo Cain is getting the day off Wednesday. Cain jammed his left thumb last Friday night, but he’s played through the discomfort with no apparent after-effects. This is just a simple day of maintenance. Ben Gamel will start in center field and bat leadoff Wednesday versus the Reds and right-hander Luis Castillo.
Cincinnati Reds Fantasy Spin
Yasiel Puig is not in the Reds’ starting lineup on Wednesday afternoon against the Brewers. Puig has picked it up the last couple of days, but he holds a weak .200/.294/.267 overall batting line through his first 17 plate appearances with the Reds. Jesse Winker is starting in right field and batting leadoff Wednesday versus right-hander Freddy Peralta. Matt Kemp is in left and Scott Schebler is in center
MLB Betting Trends
Milwaukee
The Brewers are now 6-1 in their last seven meetings with the Reds and are a perfect 4-0 in their last four games played at Great American Ballpark.
Cincinnati
The Reds are 2-10 in their last 12 games dating back to last season but are also 7-2 in Castillo’s last nine home starts.
Prediction:
While Castillo still has to deal with Christian Yelich, Ryan Braun and Travis Shaw, not having to face Cain or Yasmani Grandal is big. One would think that these two offenses would provide plenty of runs but this series has been low-scoring thus far. The under, in fact, is a perfect 6-0 in the previous six meetings between these two teams and after getting burned the previous two days by taking the over, I’m succumbing to the trends today.
The Pick: Brewers/Reds under 8.5
