Stanton favored to win NL MVP
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – Who will take home the National League MVP award in 2015? The Marlins’ biggest slugger is the current favorite.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Giancarlo Stanton is a 9/2 favorite to win the NL MVP this season. Pirates’ centerfielder Andrew McCutchen, meanwhile, is 11/2 to take home the award while Brewers’ catcher Jonathan Lucroy is 6/1 and Dodgers’ ace Clayton Kershaw is 7/1. Kershaw won the award in 2014 while McCutchen won in 2013.
Continuing with the current odds, Diamondbacks’ slugger Paul Goldschmidt is 15/2 to win the National League MVP while Troy Tulowitzki and Yasiel Puig are 10/1, respectively. Bryce Harper and Joey Votto are also 16/1, while Adrian Gonzalez, Anthony Rendon, Anthony Rizzo, Buster Posey and Matt Kemp are 20/1, respectively. Josh Harrison has the longest odds of the players mentioned by Bovada.lv, as he’s currently 33/1.
