PUBLIC BETTING INFORMATION
The public is backing the Phillies today. Philadelphia is currently getting 68 percent of the wagers for this game as the road underdog against the Braves.
KEY INJURIES
Atlanta third baseman Johan Camargo is listed on the injury report for today’s game. He is out until mid-May with an ankle injury. He batted .299 over 82 games last season and had 21 doubles. Philadelphia has third baseman Will Middlebrooks recovering from a fractured left fibula in spring training and questionable to return today.
BETTING STRATEGIES
The Braves found themselves down 5-0 entering the bottom of the sixth inning, but rallied for the win. Atlanta scored three runs in the eighth and ninth innings to get the victory. Nick Markakis had a walk-off three-run home run in the ninth. Freddie Freeman added a hit with two RBI and three runs.
Aaron Nola pitched 5.1 innings for the Phillies and allowed just one run, but the bullpen fell apart, allowing six earned runs. Hector Neris took the loss by allowing the Markakis home run. Julio Teheran allowed four runs over 5.2 innings for the Braves. Arodys Vizcaino got the win with a perfect ninth inning.
The Braves have now won five of their last six meetings with the Phillies. Philadelphia got about as good of a start as it can hope for right now and it still managed to lose on Thursday. I don’t see Pivetta having a better start than Nola had. The Braves are at home and should have the edge today.
