Four teams make offers for Hamels?
PHILADELPHIA, PA (The Spread) – Spring Training is set to open in a few weeks and Cole Hamels remains a Philadelphia Phillie. But for how long?
Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said four teams have made “real offers” for Hamels, who is believed to have been on the trade market all winter. There are a number of teams that could use Hamels’ services, including the Dodgers, Rangers and Cardinals, although how much are those teams willing to give up is the question.
CSN Philly’s Jim Salisbury believes that Hamels is the most coveted Phillies player heading into came as several players remain “very much available for trade.” But the road block in any discussions have ostensibly been Amaro, who is seeking multiple top prospects or Major League-ready talent in order to part with his ace.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Phillies are currently 150/1 long shots to win the 2015 World Series, which are the longest odds of any team in Major League Baseball this season. They’re also 75/1 to win the NL Pennant.
