Yanks Now Favored to win World Series
The New York Yankees continued to be rumored for Bryce Harper and even though the signing might be a long shot for the Bronx Bombers, they have emerged as the favorites to win the 2019 World Series.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Yankees are 11/2 favorites to win the World Series while the defending champion Boston Red Sox are 7/1. Teams in that same odds mix are the Astros at 7/1 and the Dodgers at 8/1.
The next crop includes the Cubs and Indians, who are 12/1, respectively, to win the 2019 World Series, followed by the Braves and Cardinals at 15/1, respectively. The Phillies and Nationals, meanwhile, are 18/1, followed by the Brewers at 20/1. The Mets, A’s and Rays are all 30/1, respectively, while the White Sox and Rockies are 40/1, respectively.
From there, the World Series odds fall off a cliff. The Angels are 70/1 while the Twins are 75/1 to win next season’s Fall Classic. The Reds and Giants are 90/1, respectively, while the Pirates are 100/1. Other long shots include the Padres at 125/1 and the Rangers and Blue Jays at 250/1. The Diamondbacks and Mariners, meanwhile, are 350/1, respectively, followed by the Royals at 500/1.
Finally, in the no-way-in-hell category, the Orioles, Tigers and Marlins are all 1000/1, respectively, to win the 2019 World Series. Those three teams have the longest odds on the board.
Of course, several teams will be impacted by where Harper and Manny Machado sign. Harper reportedly met with the Giants recently and at least eight teams have checked in on Harper since the start of the month. The Nationals and Phillies reportedly remain the frontrunners for his services, while the White Sox continue to be linked to Machado.
