The Twins were limping to the finish of a third straight season with near 100 losses, and Gardenhire was in the final year of his contract. The manager says it wasn’t until the day before the final game of the regular season that he knew for sure GM Terry Ryan was bringing him back.
Gardenhire signed a two-year contract after last season. Now he’s ready to see the team through the troubling times they’ve had over the last three seasons.
The Twins opened their annual fan festival on Friday, and Gardenhire says he’s confident that better days lie ahead.
