Which No. 1 seed will lose first?
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – Which No. 1 seed will be eliminated first in the 2014 March Madness Tournament?
The four No. 1 seeds are Florida, Arizona, Wichita St, and UVA in this year's March Madness. The chances are slim that all four of those teams will make the final four.
Florida looks to have a clear path if all goes well for the Gators in the South region, while Arizona could get tripped up by teams such as Creighton, or Wisky in West region.
Virginia, meanwhile, could have their hands full after the opening game in the East region, but they are a well coached disciplined team that I look to make some noise.
The first No. 1 seed to get sent home in this tourney in my mind is Wichita State. The Midwest region is pretty tough and will not be an easy road for the Shockers. The Shockers could potentially face teams such as Kentucky, Louisville, Duke, and Michigan. Wichita State has had a great season with a 34-0 record, but all good things have to end somewhere, and a few teams in that region could send 'em home early.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Florida remains the favorite to win this year’s Tournament at 5/1 although Michigan State is 6/1 and Louisville is 13/2. Arizona, meanwhile, is 8/1 to win the tournament while Virginia is 11/1 and Duke and Kansas are 12/1, respectively.
