2013 The Barclays Predictions
JERSEY CITY, NJ (ATS Consultants) - The PGA Tour's Playoffs are here with the 2013 Barclays.
This is the first event in the FedEx Playoffs, which was won last year by Brandt Snedeker. The field at the Liberty National Golf Course in Jersey City, N.J. includes the top 123 golfers on the FedExCup points list. Tiger Woods finished tied for second, one stroke behind Heath Slocum the last time the Barclays was played at Liberty National.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Woods is a 5/1 favorite to win this weekend's event, while Adam Scott has the next-best odds at 16/1 and Henrik Stenson, Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy are 20/1, respectively.
Stenson has not won lately, but he has two seconds and two thirds in his last four starts. His high-ball hitting style should translate to this course, designed by Tom Kite and Bob Cupp.
Johnson finished T8 at the PGA Championship and took over last week. He finished tied for 15th here in 2009 after shooting a 64 in the final round. He's due for a win although some say he's already a winner (being engaged to Paula Gretzky).
Furyk as three top 10 finishes in a row (Canadian Open, WGC Bridgestone, US PGA). He just missed winning the PGA Championship at Oak Hill, losing out to Jason Dufner. He's always a threat.
