According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, McIlroy has been given 5/1 odds to win this major while he has a money line of -250 to finish in the top 10 and odds of -450 to finish in the top 20. Odds of him making the cut are listed at -1000.

McIlroy is a former PGA Championship winner. He won this event back in 2012 and this is a tournament he has performed very well in. It is his best major in terms of consistent performance. He has played in this event five times and finished in the top 10 four times. He was third in 2009, third in 2010, 64th in 2011, first in 2012 and eighth in 2013.
