Walker wins Texas Open by four
SAN ANTONIO, TX (TheSpread) – Jimmy Walker didn’t have the best final round, but it didn’t matter, as he cruised to the victory in the 2015 PGA Valero Texas Open.
Walker shot a 2-under 70 on Sunday to finish the tournament at -11 overall. That was good enough to put him four shots ahead of the field. Jordan Spieth was in second at -7 overall while Billy Horschel was a distant third, finishing the tournament at -4 overall.
According to the oddsmakers, Walker had 20/1 odds to win this tournament coming into the week, which means a wager of $100 on him to prevail will payout an additional $2,000.
Spieth also shot a 2-under 70 on Sunday to get into second place, but he never was able to really threaten Walker for the victory. Horschel carded a 1-under 71 on Sunday to finish at -4 overall. Dustin Johnson and Ryan Palmer each posted a 68 on Sunday to finish at -2 for the tournament and in a tie for sixth.
