Texas Rangers at Tampa Bay Rays

Tampa Bay tied in the Wild-Card chase with Texas and just a 1/2 game up on Cleveland look to gain some breathing room when they open a crucial four game set at the Trop against the Rangers. Right-hander Alex Cobb will toe the rubber for Tampa, bringing an 8-3 record to the hill with a 3.08 ERA. Cobb hitting a rough spot is winless in four trips to the mound (0-4 TSR). Cobb will be matching pitches with Ranger’s right-hander Matt Garza, who has a 9-5 record 3.79 ERA. And, like Rays' shaky hurler, Garza is winless in four starts (1-3 TSR). Two struggling pitchers but Rays' have an ace in the hole w/Cobb. The right-hander is a perfect 5-0 at the Trop in eleven starts (7-4 TSR) and sports a solid 6-2 mark in night games. A slew of other baseball betting factors favor Rays in the opener. The Rangers are mired in an 0-6 slump, 1-9 skid and have failed to solve the AL East of late posting a 2-7 mark L9, 6-12 record L18 vs the division.
