Toronto Blue Jays at Baltimore Orioles

Blue Jays and Buehrle try upend Orioles and Tillman when the clubs open three-game series at Camden Yards. Buehrle returned to form last time out after three consecutive sub-par outings tossing seven shutout innings against Minnesota allowing just six hits and striking out five. Buehrle has not faced O's with his new club but does have a 7-5 record vs Baltimore over 16 starts with Pale Hose (10-6 TSR). As for Tillman, the right-hander hit a rough spot last time out giving up 10 hits, 5 runs in a loss at New York snapping a personal six game win streak. Tillman is 2-2 in seven life-time starts (3-4 TSR) vs Toronto with both wins coming this season. According to current betting odds, Jays are $1.20 to $1.35 road underdog and for good reason. Jays are 8-17 on the road vs the division including 7-15 as road underdogs, 3-9 last twelve trips into Baltimore. Those numbers working against Jays, the best MLB PICK is O's as they're 9-2 as home favorite of $1.20 to $1.40 including 3-1 w/Tillman, 10-3 as home favorite vs the division.

Houston at Tampa: Preview & Pick
Sportspic.com

In the world of baseball betting, tonight’s contest between the Tampa Bay Rays and Houston Astros is the equivalent of a David vs. Goliath scenario, with a veteran pitcher at home facing a rookie in his first major league start.

That matchup is the reason that, according to the current baseball betting odds at Bovada, the Rays are overwhelming favorites at -300, with a run total of 7.5.

The veteran, who is still a youngster of sorts, is David Price, who has just a 3-4 mark with a 4.18 ERA. In his first two starts since returning from injury, Price has dominated competition, allowing just one earned run in 16 innings of action for a microscopic 0.56 ERA.

The rookie is Jarred Cosart, one of the Astros’ top prospects, who is replacing Lucas Harrell in the rotation. Cosart is a power pitcher who has shown a knack for inducing double plays.

One asset in Cosart’s favor is that major league hitters aren’t yet familiar with his stuff, which could keep them guessing, at least for the first time through the lineup.

Given the intimidating baseball betting number in Tampa Bay’s favor, we’ll instead focus on the assessing the run total. The first, and most impressive number that jumps out, is that when the Rays have been more than -200 favorite with Price on the mound, the Under is an incredible 13-1-1.

Add to that the fact that when Price has had a home start following an Under performance in his previous outing, the Under has been the solid baseball betting option with a 23-11-1 mark.

Tampa Bay as a team has been on a roll, Under-wise, with 10 of the last 13 contests going below the number, along with six of the last nine night games. The team is coming off yesterday’s one-run victory, and the last four times that has happened, the Under has been the right call each time.

Even when looking at this from the viewpoint of the entire major leagues, the Under has been the money pick, since a home favorite of more than -200 with a total Under 8 is 19-7-1 in staying below the run total.

Houston has had plenty of experience as a massive underdog in 2013, this game marking the 18th time this season that the betting odds have been above +200. That has seen them win six times, which is far too much to even think about taking Tampa Bay. Therefore, the best MLB pick for this game is

Play Tampa Bay Houston Under 7.5
