When the Hawks host the Kings in a non-conference clash, Atlanta will look to rebound from a disappointing 13-point home loss to Miami on Wednesday after the All-Star break. That sets the table for tonight fray as our database notes the Hawks are 7-0 SU and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games on their home floor off an immediate home defeat. Atlanta is also 5-0 SUATS off a double-digit loss in games against Western Conference foes this campaign. With the Kings an obliging 1-5 ATS in games off a SUATS loss in non-conference clashes this season, we'll stay at home with the Hawks here tonight. We recommend a 1-unit play on Atlanta.

Dallas applies to a nice system here cashing over 73% which plays on certain road teams with rest that had 3 or more days off prior to their last game and scored 100 or more at home, vs an opponent like the Hornets that scored 90 or more as a road dog in their last game. Dallas is 16-5 to the spread as a road dog of 3 or less including 5-1 this year. In the second half of the season the last few years they are a solid 28-2 straight up vs teams under .500. Nee Orleans is 2-10 straight up in games after allowing 105 or more and 4-17 vs teams who average 99 or more points per game. Look for Dallas to take this one.

What to expect: As is often the case, we're being asked to lay a fairly steep price to grab the insurance goal in this particular matchup on Friday night, but it's warranted in my opinion. While the Blackhawks have been the talk of the town so far this NHL season, thanks to their record-setting start (no regulation time losses in their first 16 games), they're by no means invincible, and have certainly been involved in their share of close games. In fact, they're coming off back-to-back one-goal victories, and have seen 10 of their last 14 contests decided by a single goal. The 'Hawks did brush aside these same Sharks by a 4-1 score one week ago tonight, but since then, San Jose has put an end to its lengthy losing streak, upending the Blues in St. Louis on Wednesday. That was obviously a much-needed victory for San Jose on the heels of seven consecutive losses. It's worth noting that of those seven losses, three came by way of overtime or a shootout, while another was decided by one goal. This has been a competitive series in recent years, with the Sharks and 'Hawks splitting their last 10 meetings. Three of last season's four matchups were settled by one goal. Chicago has had the upper hand by a combined 9-4 margin in the first two meetings this season, but I see the rejuvenated Sharks putting up more of a fight in this spot. This one might take more than 60 minutes to decide. Final verdict: San Jose 3 Chicago 2

Pick Analysis

This is simply a bad matchup for Columbia. When these teams tangled on February 2nd, Princeton would come away with a 72-66 victory. I'm fully expecting a similar result tonight, as the visitors take full advantage of their mismatches to pull away down the stretch for the comfortable ATS cover!

FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
The Sharks will try to do what no other team has done this year: hand the Blackhawks a loss in regulation. The Sharks will also be looking to atone for a 4-1 setback to Chicago last Friday. The Sharks most recently ended an 0-4-3 skid with a 2-1 win over the Blues on Tuesday. "The relief is there, it's (finally) over," Sharks coach Todd McLellan said yesterday. "Now, we can't let our game slip," (San Jose has seen the total go under the number in six of eight this year when playing against a team with a winning record). Chicago is coming off a 4-3 shootout win over Vancouver on Tuesday. But the Blackhawks could be in tough here today, as Marian Hossa is likely to be sitting this one out after getting hit hard in the victory over the Canucks. That means the team will be leaning heavily on goaltender Ray Emery who has won three consecutive matchups with the Sharks, posting a 1.55 GAA in the process (Chicago has seen the total go under the number in three of four this year when playing with two days of rest). The 34 goals allowed by each team is tied for fewest in the West. I believe we'll once again see a tight, scrappy affair, and fully expect this one to stay under the number.

Looks like a setup line but Dallas's 111 ppg on offense thier last 5 games to much for New Orkleans to contensd with.  The Mavs also avenging a OT loss at home to the Hornets back in January here.  The Hornets have opned up the second half with 2 straighht losses, make it 3 tonight.  Mavs exact revenge with a high flying offense tonight despite the Hornets improved defense.

Take the under as these two have combined for 6 overs and 24 unders this year. Taylor Braun averages close to 15 ppg and he will miss the game for the visitors while Walsh looks to be out for the Zips. I usually look for overs in the Bracket Busters but suggest a small play on under.

New York Knicks vs. Toronto Raptors

FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Although the talented Knicks (32-19) have a short number this evening in a road event with Toronto (22-33), we must they have lost three straight after being ripped 125-91 last time by Indiana in a road setting. NYK was truly embarrassed being down by a solid 30 at half-time. Over the last two weeks New York has started to really come apart on the defensive end of the floor, tired legs, injuries, and disinterest at times has brought the opponents shooting mark to almost 46%. However, New York does have a slight ½ game lead over Indiana in the Eastern Conference for second place. So, they are still a very talented and dangerous unit. But, with both Wallace and Camby still out working on their conditioning, doubt their presence in the lineup.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Toronto is still in the playoff hunt. The Raptors have been playing solid ball of late winning 5 of 6 SU after dropping a game to the Grizzlies last time 88-82. Last week the Raptors went into the City and defeated the Knicks 92-88. New York shot a horrible 35.4% to help the downturn. At home Toronto is 14-14 SU, 5-8 versus the East. However, recently (January 31st) the acquisition of Rudy Gay has Toronto on the up-tick emotionally bringing more energy to the playing floor. The Knicks have covered the last 4 of 5, while the UNDERDOG has been the move at 12-3..

Orlando has given up on the season, on a ridiculous 1-14 SU, 2-13 ATS run. They come off another blowout loss, giving up 111 at Dallas. Injuries and suspensions have decimated this team and now they just don't care anymore. Orlando is 25th in the NBA in scoring, 20th in points allowed -- and getting worse in both categories. Memphis is a powerhouse team defensively and at home, motivated and playing well, second in the NBA in points allowed for Coach Lionel Hollins. And the Grizzlies are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games vs. a team with a losing record. Play the Grizzlies.

Princeton couldn't get the job done at Harvard last Saturday, and as a result the Tigers are now in a must-win scenario every time out if they want to stay within hailing distance of the Crimson. Columbia gave Princeton a pretty good battle in the prior meeting, and the Lions will no doubt be eager to put forth a good effort here after getting swept on the road last weekend. But Princeton owns several matchup advantages here, and after playing at less than their best last game, I'd rather be on the side of the better team in a bounce back situation. Short number, in fact a little shorter than I thought it would be. That is actually a bit of a concern as I also know Princeton will be receiving the bulk of the betting action. Nevertheless, I'm backing the Tigers to get back on track with the win and cover tonight.

Chicago Blackhawks -140FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM

The Sharks enter this big Western Conference match up 8-4-3 on the season. Although that records looks OK they are just 3-3-1 on the road and have lost 7 of their last 8 games. The Sharks got off to a hot start, but dropped 7 straight games (scoring only 8 goals over that span) before winning their last time out in St Louis. The Blackhawks are no doubt the hottest team in the NHL with no regulation loss to date and a 13-0-3 record. They are 5-0-1 on home ice and enter tonight's game winners of 3 straight and 7 of 8. During that span includes a 4-1 home victory against the Sharks and a 5-3 victory in San Jose. Tonight we should have a good goalie match up with Antti Niemi probable who is 7-2-3 with a 1.86 GAA and .933 SV% vs Ray Emery (confirmed) who is a perfect 6-0 with a 2.27 GAA and .925 SV%. The Sharks are just 1-4 in their last 5 road games, 0-4 in their last 4 road games vs a team with a home winning % of .600 or better, and 1-9 in their last 10 vs Central division opponents. Take note that the Blackhawks have beaten the Sharks 4 of their last 5 meetings overall and they are a perfect 4-0 in their last 4 home meetings vs San Jose. The Sharks have really struggled offensively lately, while the Blackhawks have scored 3+ goals in 7 of their last 8 games and have recorded 37+ shots in their last 3 games (and 30+ shots in 6 of 7). Chicago is finding ways to win and I like them to win another big game on home ice tonight.

The scoreboard operator figures to be kept busy on Friday night when the San Antonio Spurs (43-12, 30-23-2 ATS) stay on the west coast to take on the Golden State Warriors (31-23, 28-25-1 ATS) at Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA at 10:35 ET on ESPN. The Spurs beat the Kings at Sacramento 108-102 in their first game following the All-Star break and they had a date with Blake Griffin, Chris Pail and the rest of the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday. The Warriors put the brakes on a six-game losing streak with a 108-98 home win over the Phoenix Suns in their first game following the break on Wednesday.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
The Spurs are the hottest team in the NBA as they have won 15 of their last 16 games pending Thursday's result, leaving them with the best record in the NBA at 43-12. San Antonio is averaging 103.0 points per game during the 15-1 run and the Spurs rank fourth in the league in scoring overall this season at 104.3 points per game. They are also second in field goal percentage at 48.7 percent and fourth in three-point shooting, and for a veteran team, they do not mind running the floor as they rank seventh in the NBA with a pace rating of 96.3 possessions per game. Now while it is true that the Spurs are better defensively this season than they were last year, ranking eighth in points against at 95.9 per game, they have not been as stingy as of late while surrendering 98.2 points per game in the last five contests. Given that both of these teams play fast, do not be surprised if both clubs top the century mark in this contest.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
The youthful Warriors have become one of the more exciting teams in the league and they remain in second place in the Pacific Division despite that six-game slide prior to the break. The Warriors have also been one of the more 'over' friendly teams in the NBA as they rank eighth in the league in scoring a 101.1 points per game and they lead the league in three-point shooting at 39.3 percent, while at the same time they rank 26th in points against at 101.4 per encounter, The end result has been a 35-18-1 'over' record including 15-8-1 here in Oakland. Granted these teams went 'under' when they last met January 18th in San Antonio, but keep in mind that Stephen Curry missed that game due to an ankle injury. Curry was one of the more notable All-Star Game snubs this season and he is coming off of a 20-point, 11-assist effort vs. the Suns on Wednesday.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
The 'over' is still 15-7-1 in the last 23 head-to-head meetings between these teams and 21-8 in the last 29 Golden State conference games. The 'over' is also 12-5-1 the last 18 times that San Antonio has played the second game of a back-to-back.

The Chicago Bulls were downright embarrassed last night at the United Center, scoring just 67 points in a blowout loss to the Miami Heat. The Heat are playing on another planet right now. These are professional athletes, and when they get one "stuck in their face," they more often than not come back motivated and hungry. Teams off an ugly loss where they scored 68 or fewer points cover 59.2% of the time coming back the next night. Normally an opponent heading to Charlotte may be in for a letdown, but that won't be the case tonight. The Bobcats' home-court advantage is non-existent as they are 17-41 ATS in their last 58 here. Go with the Bulls.

These teams played on February 2nd and Dartmouth handed Yale a 9 point loss. The change in venue is not enough to swing the end result enough for Yale to cover such a large number. You should always play against home favorites of 10 or more points like Yale when they are off a home win against a conference rival, in February games. This trend is 194-122 (61.4%) over the last 5 seasons. This game also falls into a situation to play on a road team like Dartmouth shooting 40% or less and playing against a team allowing 42.5-45% shooting after 15+ games in the season. This situation is 122-75 (61.9%) over the last 5 seasons. Dartmouth does a good job of controlling turnovers, averaging 14 or less per game on the road. They do an average job on the boards averaging 9 offensive rebounds per game on the road while Yale averages 9 offensive boards at home. Yale may get their revenge in this game, but it should not be by the 11+ points it will take to cover this large spread.

The Mavs are 24-29 and in 11th-place, leaving them 4 1/2 games back of eighth-place Houston in the Western Conference playoff standings. They have little margin for error in their attempt to extend their playoff streak to 13 years. The Mavericks defeated pathetic Orlando 111-96 in their first game after the All-Star break on Wednesday and now visit New Orleans to take on the 19-36 Hornets. New Orleans made it through the NBA trade deadline with Eric Gordon (16.6 PPG in 19 games) still on the roster. Gordon, whose name was mentioned in trade rumors, sat out a 105-100 loss in Cleveland on Wednesday as the team prohibits him from playing on successive days. He scored 20 in 30 minutes of a 96-87 loss to Chicago the night before. "I wish that (policy) was over, but we don't see it ending anytime soon," coach Monty Williams said. "For whatever reason, the doctors feel that's best for Eric. But he's healthy, so it's tough." Although Gordon is healthy, he has been hit-or-miss in his last eight games, averaging 23.0 points and 50.0 percent shooting in four but 8.0 points and 29.4 percent in the other four. The truth is, Hew Orleans is a huge MONEY-MAKER as a road dog (38-21 ATS these last two seasons) but the Hornets are just 9-16 SU at home this season. Meanwhile, the Mavs' 15-3 ATS mark since Jan 9 is the best in the league and Dallas has been a great play on the road the past few months, covering 9 of its last 11 as a visitor. Take the Mavs.

The Rockets are coming from a huge win over the Thunder, but this game may leave marks for tonight's contest. That game had a pace of 104, the team was shorthanded and they were forced to use their starters for heavy minutes: Carlos Delfino 42 minutes, Jeremy Lin 42 minutes, James Harden 44 minutes and Chandler Parsons only played 35 minutes because he got injured during the game. The Rockets only had 1 day off to rest and they had to travel to Brooklyn, so this is a tough spot for them to perform. On the other hand, the Nets don't have an easy spot neither. They will be playing their third game in four nights, after a home-home series against Milwaukee, where they won both games. On their last game at Milwaukee, they won the game mostly due to their bench, as their starters looked lethargic! Now on a poor spot, I don't expect the Nets to be particularly energetic tonight either.

Matchup wise, Houston has a clear edge with the speed of their guards. James Harden and Jeremy Lin have a clear edge in terms of speed against Deron Williams and Joe Johnson, so the Nets's gameplan for tonight will be very simple: insert a slow pace in the game and avoid a run and gun game at any cost! Brooklyn will try to take advantage of their size edge in the frontcourt, with Brook Lopez, while refusing to run as they would get crushed by the Rockets on an up and down game, even though Houston's spot is very tough.

The first time these two teams faced each other, Brooklyn was blown out at Houston. The Nets were unable to slow down the pace and because of that, the Nets allowed a season high of 119 points! Note that the pace of that game was "just" 90.80! Brooklyn had no time to prepare for that game, as it was a back to back contest for them and they had been crushed at Memphis the night before. Deron Williams had his best offensive game of the season with 10-15 FG, 27 points and 11 assists, while Houston's offense did whatever they wanted to do with 60 points in the paint, 27 fast break points and 12-28 (42.9%) 3pts! With the Nets using a different game plan tonight and with both teams being on a poor spot, I see this line as being set way too high. Therefore, I'll be taking the Under in here.
