2013 UFC on FOX 6 Free Picks for Johnson vs. Dodson
By Drew Sharper

CHICAGO, IL (TheSpread) – UFC on FOX 6 takes place on Saturday night. Here is a look at a few free picks to consider for this card.

The UFC on FOX 6 will take place from the United Center in Chicago with the main card bouts airing live on FOX at 8PM ET. All picks are made from odds according to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv.

UFC Flyweight Championship Bout – Demetrious Johnson (16-2-1) vs. John Dodson (14-5)

This fight should be very entertaining and likely will last the full 25 minutes. Both men push a fast and tireless pace, but Johnson has the experience edge on Dodson. It does appear that Dodson has the edge in terms of power, but Johnson looks to have the edge in technique. I think Johnson will win the striking with his footwork and win the ground game with his speed. It should be a close fight, but I look for the champion to retain by decision. UFC FREE PICK – DEMETRIOUS JOHNSON -240

UFC Light Heavyweight Bout – Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (32-10) vs. Glover Teixeira (19-2)

Teixeira is the hot name in the UFC light heavyweight division, but he has really yet to test himself against a top-level fighter like Jackson. Rampage has a lot of motivation for this fight, as it is the last fight on his UFC contract and he needs an impressive showing to land a big deal for his fight future. Both men have big hands, but Jackson has the boxing technique advantage. I don’t see Teixeira having the wrestling skills to get Jackson to the ground. I think the odds are way too favorable for Teixeira. I think Jackson is a strong underdog to play on Saturday. UFC FREE PICK – QUINTON “RAMPAGE” JACKSON +255

UFC Lightweight Bout – Anthony Pettis (15-2) vs. Donald Cerrone (19-4)

This fight has the potential to be legendary. Both men are tremendous strikers. Cerrone is a skilled kickboxer while Pettis uses muay thai and an array of difficult kicks. Both men are also aggressive off their back. This fight should be a striking battle, but if either man senses trouble, they could look for takedowns. I think Pettis has the better knockout power while Cerrone attempts to overwhelm with a high number of strikes. Ultimately, I think Pettis lands a big kick to the head over 15 minutes of fighting that will lead to a stoppage. UFC FREE PICK – ANTHONY PETTIS -130
