2012 UFC 155 Free Picks & Predictions for Dos Santos vs. Velasquez II

LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – UFC 155 takes place on Saturday night and features a championship contest. Here are a few suggested plays for the night’s main card.

UFC 155 will take place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas with the main card bouts airing live on PPV at 10PM ET. All odds are according to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv.

UFC Heavyweight Championship Bout – Junior Dos Santos (15-1) vs. Cain Velasquez (10-1)

Dos Santos won the first fight in quick fashion but Velasquez is claiming a knee injury severely hampered what he could do in the octagon. Velasquez has the wrestling ability to get Dos Santos down, and we have never seen him fight off his back. That is the best way to neutralize his striking and I think Velasquez will be smart and look to make this a grappling match. When on the ground, Velasquez has great ground and pound that will test Dos Santos’ chin. I see Velasquez getting the nod this time with a third round TKO. FREE PICK – Cain Velasquez +160

UFC Lightweight Bout – Jim Miller (21-4) vs. Joe Lauzon (22-7)

I see Miller getting the win here. Lauzon tends to start fast and then fatigue in the later rounds. Miller is savy enough to survive the early storm from Lauzon and then get the fatigued fighter to the ground where he will either secure a submission, or ride out a decision. In this case, I see Miller getting a choke in during the final round. FREE PICK – Jim Miller -220

UFC Middleweight Bout – Yushin Okami (27-7) vs. Alan Belcher (18-6)

This should be a competitive fight as Belcher is a good striker and Okami is a strong wrestler. I think the key to his fight will be Okami’s strength on the ground. He is able to get opponents down and not let them back up. As good as Belcher’s striking can be, I don’t think he has the ability to keep this fight standing, and that is the only way he can win. I see Okami getting a decision victory. FREE PICK – Yushin Okami -130
