Toronto is off a win, but struggling, losing 2 of every 3 games. They are ranked 24th in rebounds and points allowed, giving up 100.7 ppg. Orlando is also off a win and playing better, close to .500 with a sharp defense that allowed 94.2 ppg (6th). They are also 8th in the league in rebounding and 6th in assists. The Magic is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games and on a 7-3 ATS run overall. Play the Magic!

Southern Illinois is a much improved team over the one that finished 8-23 last season and that is reflected by the fact the Salukis were a miserable 2-11 on the road last year and come into this game 3-2 in their “away” games. This is not to suggest Southern Illinois is an outstanding basketball team but merely to point out it is playing well and at a much higher performance profile than is UC-Davis. UC-Davis has beaten only Eastern Washington (2-8) and Sacramento State (6-3) this season and simply seems up against it tonight.

FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
The Knicks and Bulls square off for the second time this season and New York seeks revenge as well as tries to extend its lead in the Eastern Conference. The Bulls might have something to say about that though. The Knicks won their last game, a home win over Brooklyn and they have taken it to their new neighbors the last two meetings. That moved New York to 11-1 at home and 19-6 overall to remain a game ahead of Miami for top position in the Eastern Conference. Being a public team already, this great start to the season has only added to the public love and we are seeing some significant line overadjustments. This is a another case of it as the Knicks were favored by six points against Brooklyn which has a worse record than Chicago and is in the midst of a 2-8 run but they are favored by a larger number here. After starting 8-1 against the spread, New York is just 7-9 ATS in its last 16 games. The Bulls meanwhile have been playing very well as they are 8-3 over their last 11 games with those three losses coming by an average of 6.0 ppg. As a matter of fact, Chicago has been competitive in the majority of its losses, losing only one by double-digits and the other nine coming by an average of 5.6 ppg. The absence of Derrick Rose is still felt but the Bulls make up for it with solid defense as they are allowing 90.3 ppg on 42.4 percent shooting, both of which are second best in the NBA. New York is actually getting outshot on the season 45 percent to 45.7 percent. That obviously is not a big variance but any negative variance is irregular for a team that has such a solid record. Neither team has been great against the number following a win but we give the edge to Chicago as it is 6-4 ATS on the road and is catching a very generous number in this situation.

The Celtics will be looking to extend a six game winning streak at home, when they host Milwaukee on Friday night. Boston has been a tough place to play for opposing teams, as the Celtics are 9-4 at TD Garden so far this year. Paul Pierce is feeling the hot hand in recent days, shooting over 66% from the field in his last three games.

The 15 year veteran dropped 40 points on the Cavs on Wednesday, becoming the oldest player in club history to score 40 points in regulation time.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
The Bucks have lost two of their last three, and their leading scorer Monte Ellis is slumping terribly. Ellis was ice cold on Wednesday, shooting just 1-14 in a loss to the Grizzlies. He's shooting just 25% over his last three games. "He's our scorer, so he's the most important player on this team," Brandon Jennings said. "With great scorers like that you shouldn't be too worried because they always come back strong."
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
The Bucks have only won twice in their last 10 trips to the Garden, however they did win their last visit. That's something the Celtics surely haven't forgotten, and they will be looking for redemption against the struggling Bucks here on Friday night.

After emptying its tanks in eventual 64-53 midweek loss vs. Michigan State at its Stroh Center, not sure what sort of effort Louis Orr’s BGSU can muster in Tampa. USF is suddenly making a nice fortress out of the Sun Dome, with three straight DD wins over competent opposition.  Stan Heath’s no-nonsense defenders will be on lookout for potential breakout Falcon star Chauncey Orr (Louis’ son), who scored 16 on Tuesday vs. Tom Izzo’s Spartans.  The Bulls’ “bullish” 6-8, 243-lb. F Toarlyn Fitzpatrick (12.3 ppg) is providing a tough matchup with his ability to float to the perimeter, where he’s draining 45% of his triples.

Milwaukee is 13-11 SU and 12-12 ATS; it's coming off a 90-80 setback at Memphis on the 19th as a 9 point underdog. The Bucks would shoot a season low in field goal % (35) and in overall points. Brandon Jennings had 26 points in the setback. Monta Ellis though was just 1 of 14; in fact Ellis is just 13 of 51 over his last three games.

It comes as no surprise to learn that the Bucks have gone over the 100 point mark just once in their last 14 games.

Neither one of these teams have been playing well, but at least Washington has been keeping games closer than expected. The Wizards have lost five straight but have covered 8 of their last 9. Detroit on the other hand has lost six in a row but have only covered one time in that stretch.

The Pistons have been shooting awful. They haven't shot better than 42% from the field in their last six games and that puts them into a situation where they are 3-14 ATS their last 17 coming off four straight games in which they shot 42% or worse from the field.

Orlando is 20-2 straight up and 22-0 ats with 1 or less day of rest off a home game where their opponent hoisted up 10 or more 3 point shot and converted at least half of them. We also want to play on road dogs with rest that scored 90 or more as a home favorite of 5 or more and shot 45% or less, vs an opponent like Toronto that scored 90 or more as a home favorite of 4 or less and shot 45% or higher. These road teams have cashed over 80% of the time. Both teams have won 4 straight. Orlando has revenge from an earlier 97-86 loss and has covered 9 of 12 on the road and all 3 off a division game. Look for Orlando to get the cash here plus the points tonight.

FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Central Florida is better than Ball State. It's not a landslide by any means, but man for man and on the numbers, the Knights win this game. But if there's one major handicapping factor in the bowls, especially the lesser events, it's motivation, and for this game, it appears to be all Ball State. They're excited, and Head Coach Pete Lembo has made no secret of how important he feels this game is for his program. The Cardinals apparently have a pretty good base of alums in this area, and Lembo has made mention of this bowl location being huge for his recruiting goals. Ball State has never won a bowl game, so they're going to be ready tonight. The downside is twofold. The Cardinals are a lousy defensive team, and especially so vs. the run. Also, QB Wenning is playing, but he's probably not real healthy. Wenning missed most of the practices with his ankle in a walking boot, and if he can't operate, there could be a problem. But more than playing on Ball State, this is a side against UCF. They have sold a mere 4100 tickets for a bowl that's virtually in their back yard. The fan base is decidedly unexcited about the opponent, and no one likes the idea of going to watch a game at dumpy Tropicana. In addition, UCF is off a brutal OT loss in the CUSA title game, and that's not a plus heading into this game. On paper, this is a pass all the way, as my number is the same as the betting line. But I'm taking my shot with what I believe is the more interested squad, so Ball State plus the points gets a play from me tonight.

Buffalo is traveling a long way from home for this one...and bringing a 4-7 record with them. Though off campus in Seattle the Cougars can expect a partial crowd. WSU is just 7-4 but other than a loss at Pepperdine looks good. They almost knocked off Gonzaga earlier this month and 6’10 Australian import Brock Motum is looking better and better each game out. The Bulls have only one player who can look him in the eye and not enough on the perimeter to really challenge. The Cougars are shooting 31.5 percent from beyond the arc. WSU are 14-3 ATS in conference games and we're banking on an easy victory Friday night at the KeyArena in Seattle.

Here come the Bulls. Since getting off to a soft 6-7 start, Chicago has rattled off 8 wins in its last 11 games. It owns a 93-85 victory over the Knicks during this strong stretch of play, and I expect it to challenge New York again tonight.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
The Bulls held the Knicks to just 32.1% shooting in the first matchup. New York relies on perimeter scoring, which can be an issue against good defensive teams like the Bulls. Few teams get in your grill like Chicago, which ranks second in the league in field goal percentage defense (42.4% shooting allowed per game).

The Bulls have won 5 of the last 6 meetings with the lone loss coming by a single point in their most recent visit to Madison Square Garden.

Re: Free Picks: Service Plays for Friday December, 21

Wunderdog

Chicago at New York
Pick: Under 187.5

The Chicago Bulls have been good on the defensive end for the past few years. This year they have had to increase their focus and intensity while they await the return of Derrick Rose. That has led them to holding 14 opponents to under 90 points already on the season. That includes six of their last seven opponents with a winning record. Within that mix was this New York team, who they held to 85 points in their last meeting. It seems that the better the competition, the slower the pace and better the defense is for Chicago. Overall they are 35-16 to the UNDER in their last 51 games, and that includes a perfect 7-0 to the UNDER on rested legs of two day’s rest. The Knicks like to run, but haven't had a lot of success in doing so vs. the Bulls, resulting in 7 of the last 10 meetings falling short of the total. Play on the UNDER.

The Pacers (14-12) have won four of their last five games after their 104-84 win versus Utah on Wednesday. Now Indiana travels to face their NBA Central rival -- and they have been reliable in situations like this. The Pacers have covered the point spread in 7 of their last 8 games against teams with a losing record. Additionally, Indiana has covered the point spread in 5 of their last 6 games against Eastern Conference opponents. Cleveland (5-22) has lost five straight games after their 103-91 loss at Boston on Wednesday -- and they have then failed to cover the point spread in 5 of their last 6 games after a double-digit loss. The Cavaliers have not been particularly dangerous at home since they have failed to cover the point spread in 23 of their last 31 home contests. Additionally, Cleveland has failed to cover the point spread in 7 of their last 8 games against fellow Eastern Conference opponents. Lay the points with the Pacers in this one.

I'll lay the small number with the Hawks against a struggling Philly team that has lost 5 in a row SU and ATS. Atlanta is a reliable 11-2 ATS as a road favorite of 6 points or less over the last 2 seasons and has won by an average of 13.3 points in these contests. Bet the Hawks.

The Spurs will be extremely hungry tonight considering they have lost back-to-back games and four of their last five. They have had two full days of rest prior to this contest so they will be fresh as well. Look for them to bounce back strong against a New Orleans squad that has lost nine in a row. The Spurs have had some tough games in New Orleans, but they have dominated the Hornets in San Antonio. The Spurs won 128-103 the last time New Orleans visited. They have won their last three at home against the Hornets by an average of 20.7 points. Lay the number.

The Knicks will be out for revenge against Chicago tonight, as the Bulls knocked off New York 93-85 in Chicago back on Dec. 8. The Knicks shot just 32% from the field and still were within striking distance and they played that game without their star Carmelo Anthony.

Considering that this game is being played at Madison Square Garden and will be televised on ESPN, I expect a big time effort out of New York tonight. The Knicks are a dominant 11-1 at home, outscoring their opponents by over 10-points per game. The Knicks were a 2-point favorite in Chicago without Anthony and you are telling me that their best player and the home-court edge is only worth 3.5 addition points. I'm not buying it.

This is very similar to the Bulls two games against the Clippers. Chicago lost by 21-points at Los Angeles as a 6.5-point dog and were able to hold their own in a 5-point loss at home as a 4-point dog. Chicago's defense simply isn't as strong away from the United Center. I look for New York to win this game by double-digits. The Knicks are 12-3 ATS as a home favorite of 6-points or less over the last 2 seasons, winning by an average of 9-points per contest!

The San Antonio Spurs will be highly motivated for a win tonight. They have lost four of their last five and are still 19-8 on the season. All four of those losses came on the road against some pretty stiff competition.

"We've been on the road a lot and I just think we're a little bit tired and don't have the same energy," Tony Parker said. "It's been a tough schedule, but now we get two days off to rejuvenate and we have a long stretch at home to get it back."

They catch the Hornets at a perfect time to put an end to this recent stretch of poor play. New Orleans has averaged 88.1 points during its nine-game losing streak, and it had one of its worst offensive performances of the season in a 93-77 road loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday.

The Hornets have dropped 17 of their last 19 visits to San Antonio, including a 103-128 setback in their last trip there. The Spurs are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 home meetings with New Orleans. The home team is 20-6 ATS in the last 26 meetings in this series.

The Spurs are 11-2 ATS as a favorite of 10 or more points over the last 2 seasons. San Antonio is 10-1 ATS when playing with 2 days rest over the last 2 seasons. The Spurs are 24-2-1 ATS in their last 27 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. San Antonio is 7-0 ATS in its last 7 Friday games. Bet the Spurs Friday.
