My free pick run is now at 33-16-1 after hitting St. Joseph's last night with a wire-to-wire win and cover last night against Yale. Tonight I am in the NBA, and I like the Brooklyn Nets to get it done over the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers.

Cleveland arrives at the Barclay Center after losing for the fifth time in six games on Sunday after dropping a 106-91 decision to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Cavaliers were outscored 27-18 in the fourth quarter, as the Thunder's dynamic duo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook combined for 53 points in the game.

Now the Cavs take on a Nets team that stepped up to sweep a home-and-home set with the Orlando Magic, winning Sunday, 82-74, here in Brooklyn. The Nets scored an impressive 107-68 blowout win in Orlando on Friday.

I know the Nets have won five of their last seven against the Cavaliers, and I also realize has taken six of its last eight as the visitor in the series. Fact is, the Nets are the better team in this matchup and should win and cover this one with ease.

On the heels of nailing the Minnesota Golden Gophers as a free play last night, I'm coming back tonight in the NBA with the home chalk on the Sacramento Kings over the Portland Trail Blazers, laying a cheap number. After seeing the Blazers fail to take advantage against the traveling Atlanta Hawks last night, I don't think they're going to be able to respond on the road for a second game in as many nights.

After last night's 95-87 home loss to Atlanta, the Blazers have now lost four in a row. I'd rather back Sacramento and its hopes of shaking off back-to-back losses, including a 103-90 road loss to the Lakers. I know center DeMarcus Cousins - the Kings' leading scorer (17.3 points) and rebounder (9.8) - will not play tonight, but rookie Thomas Robinson returns after serving a league suspension.

The teams split four meetings last season, with the Kings winning the last two matchups, both in Sacramento, upping their home edge to 55-39 when they're hosting the series.

Portland is in on ATS losing streaks of 8-19 when visiting teams that win at home and 0-4 overall. I'm laying the money with the home team.

Time to move onto tonight's free play. I like Duke over Kentucky at home in what promises to be a great college hoops game.

Duke is 1-0 on the season after a 74-55 win over Georgia St. in their opener. Mason Plumlee and Seth Curry were spectacular and they got solid contributions from guys like Ryan Kelly and Tyler Thorton. They also have two or three other solid players coming off the bench and this is one of Duke's better teams I've seen in a while. Well, at least deepest.

Don't get me wrong... it definitely hurt watching Austin Rivers going pro after one season, but as always, Duke remains Duke and they're going to be good.

Mason Plumlee is one of the best big men in college basketball, averaging 12 PPG and 9 RPG last year... and he's poised for better things this year. Plumlee is just the type of player who will frustrate Kentucky's bigs tonight.

Ryan Kelly is another big body for Coach K, averaging nearly 12 PPG while shooting 40% from outside of 10 feet. Pretty impressive for a big man.

Duke shot 11-24 (45.8%) from long range in their opening win over Georgia State, and while I realize this is Kentucky's defense, those numbers are still scary if you're a UK fan.

In contrast, Kentucky has arguably the most inexperienced team in college basketball, but they also have a TON of talent... it's just untapped talent.

I'll put my money with the experience over the potential tonight. Take Duke as your free play of the day.

Freebie winner last night on Maryland in the college ranks.

Now a 34-21 free play run.

Your Tuesday freebie comes in college hoops, go with Butler over Xavier as the two schools meet for the first time as conference rivals.

Butler and VCU have joined the Atlantic 10 trail, and the Bulldogs are seeking revenge for a rather ugly 73-61 loss on their home floor last December. That marked the second time in as many years the X-Men have been able to beat back the Bulldogs.

Not today, as Butler was in the down mode last season, but they do have four returning starters featured on this season's team, including Arkansas transfer Rotnei Clark who figures to hold an advantage over the younger Musketeers backcourt that enters the new season with guard Tu Holloway and Mark Lyons departed from this year's rebuilding Muskie's attack.

Last year Butler was rebuilding, this year it is Xavier of the rebuild mission.
Take the Bulldogs in this late afternoon clash on ESPN..

My free winner for Tuesday night is going to be on the New York Knicks laying the number in Orlando, against a Magic team that has been horrendous on offense over its first six games. Coach Jacque Vaughn has to be beside himself with how bad this team has performed, scoring just 87.8 points per game, the lowest total in the league.

In their past four games - all losses - the Magic have scored an abysmal 77.5 points per night. And now they run up against a Knicks team that leads the league in defensive efficiency, while limiting opponents a league-low 40.7 percent from the floor.

I love Carmelo Anthony and the unbeaten Knicks' chances in this game, as the high-scoring Knicks who rank second in the NBA with 104.5 points per game are going to have the perfect balance to destroy this team tonight.

Anthony leads the league with 27.3 ppg and looked splendiferous with a season-high 31 points in Friday's home 104-94 win over the Dallas Mavericks.

New York will play three straight and six of the next seven games on the road, where it is 1-0 on the season. And even though that doesn't prove a lot, that the Knicks are battle-tested for the highway, I still em tonight in this one.

Free play winner for Tuesday night is an obvious one...take the Knicks minus the points as the road favorite at Orlando.

Hard to argue with New York's 4-0 straight up and against the spread start. Maybe they need Amar'e Stoudemire to just stay in street clothes for the rest of the season!

The Magic were able to start their new era with wins in their first pair of games, but reality has set in and Orlando has dropped four in a row, while going 0-2-1 against the spread their past three setbacks.

New York has won the last pair and three of the last four series meetings against Orlando, with the last two wins in this series coming by 16 and 22 points.

Don't see much changing tonight, as the Knicks have come out and actually played defense this season, which will spell trouble for an Orlando side that hasn't been able to net more that 75 points in any of their last three losses.

Knicks to make it 5-0 both straight up and against the spread.
