TUESDAY PREMEIUM SERVICE PLAYS
Re: TUESDAY PREMEIUM SERVICE PLAYS
3* Cleveland +6 1/2
Playoff revenge for Cleveland when LeBron missed that 3-point shot in game #7 and if it goes, Boston would not be raising the banner for the 17th time tonight. The Celtics were 82-26 in all games last year but just 6-5 versus the Cavaliers. The absence of James Posey figures to really hurt Boston this year and center Kendrick Perkins is still not 100 percent, recovering from off-season shoulder surgery. The Cavaliers are hungry and healthy. Plus the addition of Mo Williams should really boost the up-tempo style the Cavs need to play in order to beat the Celtics. Boston is almost impossible to beat in the half court set. The Cavs have covered 9/11 in this series and it’s always a good idea to go against the defending champs early (over valued). Daniel Gibson is healthy and we all remember what he’s capable of coming off the bench in the 2006 playoffs (especially versus the Pistons). The Cavaliers have covered 40/64 in the role of a road underdog. Center Ilgauskas should have open looks if Perkins doesn’t get his normal minutes. The playoff pressure if off of Sasha Pavlovic, so his outside shooting should be a factor tonight. Some interesting coaching trends here: Cleveland is 21-10 as a road underdog of 3 ½-6 ½ points under Coach Brown while Boston is 16-30 ATS as a home chalk of 3 ½-6 ½ points under Coach Rivers. With playoff revenge relatively fresh in the minds of the Cavaliers, I’ll take the points with Cleveland as a 3* release (+6 ½).
