BOOKIES BATTLE THE POINTSPREAD! WEEK 8

BOOKIES BATTLE THE POINTSPREAD! WEEK 8

Things were sure screwed up last week as I was in Vegas, and spent an extra day there. You'd think one week was enough!

Last week the total figures for the year were messed up, and hopefully they are straightened out now. But I added in the MNF game and it only comes to 13 games, instead of 14. Maybe they didn't add in the SNF game. But I'll just go with the figures I've adjusted since everyone is bunched up anyway so one game's not going to make too much a difference.

We have two Bookies at 57 wins, and 3 at 56 wins...actually 4... but we throw one out. Tied for the lead are Steve Harvey of the Edgewater, and Josh Pool is our newcomer from the Fiesta Rancho both with 57 wins. Tied for 3rd, 4th and 5th are Robert Jaynes-Eastside Cannery, Thomas O'Brien- Sunset Station, and Anthony Santoro-Treasure Isl. Honorable mention this week goes to Josh Rassai from Bally's. Sooo, let's get started!

STEVE HARVEY EDGEWATER LW 9-4  YTD 57-44
..OAK..NO...KC...MIA..DAL..PHI..STL..CAR..DET..CLE..PIT..SF..CIN..IND

JOSH POOL  FIESTA RANCHO  LW 9-4   YTS 57-44
..OAK..SD..NYJ..BUF..DAL..ATL..STL..ARI..WAS..CLE..NYG.SF..CIN..TEN

ROBERT JAYNES  EAST. CANNERY  LW 8-5  YTD 56-45
..BAL..NO..KC...MIA..DAL..ATL..STL..CAR..DET..CLE..NYG..SF..CIN..IND

THOMAS O'BRIEN  SUNSET STATION  LW 5-8   YTD 56-45
..OAK..NO..KC..MIA..TB...PHI...NE....ARI..DET..CLE...PIT...SF..CIN..TEN

ANTHONY SANTORO TREASURE ISL. LW 6-7  YTD 56-45
..BAL..SD..NYJ.MIA..TB...ATL...NE....CAR.DET..CLE...NYG..SF..CIN..TEN

CONSENSUS  ALL HOTELS  LW 5-8  YTD 44-57
..
BAL..NO...NYJ..MIA..DAL..PHI..STL...CAR.DET..CLE...PIT...SF..CIN..TEN
.28...35....31...28....46....30...38.....31...31....37.....34....46..44....30

The above numbers are the amount of times that team was taken by 56 bookies. If you'll notice, both BAL and MIA are taken 28 times which is exactly half of the amount of bookies, so either team could have been put in the Consensus picks.  So OAK and BUF could have just as easily been the Consensus pick. We'll see what happens..

Differences went 3-0 last week and all three were selected 4-1 with CIN, DET and CAR cashing. This week we have 3 games where the bookies picked the teams unanimously.  Remember, these 5-0 teams just aren't cashing in so far. MIA and DET are selected 4-1, but remember what I said about MIA, it could have just as easily been BUF.

This week we have 4 differences.  The Bookies have taken OAK, KC, ATL and NYG, while the Consensus took BAL, NYJ, PHI, and PIT.

So that will do it for this week. I'll be traveling to Florida tomorrow to see my ailing Mom and best friend. Both have lung cancer and they don't have too much time left. I should be back to post this next Thursday.
