Anyone bet NBA Preseason?

Anyone bet NBA Preseason?

Yeah, I know, you have to be pathetic to bet the NBA preseason  wink  But, just like NFL, there is money to be made.  Maybe just take the dogs across the board?

Re: Anyone bet NBA Preseason?

Unless you have some info like from a local paper or news that more than likely the bookmaker has no clue about I can't see any reason to bet it all.

Re: Anyone bet NBA Preseason?

I have a sneaky suspicion that none of these teams that play tonight should be favored by more than a few points at best.  So, I took all the dogs on small 100's for each game below.  I will let you know the results tomorrow:

New York Knicks
    +6½

Charlotte Bobcats
    +5½

Indiana Pacers     +1½

Milwaukee Bucks
    +7

Washington Wizards
    +5

    Oklahoma City Thunder
    +6

    Atlanta Hawks
    +4½

    Golden State Warriors
    +6½

Re: Anyone bet NBA Preseason?

Results from betting ALL the underdogs across the board in tonight's NBA preseason action:

4-3-1 ATS

3 of the dogs actually won outright!  Too bad I didn't get the moneyline :-  I am going to continue testing this theory of preseason NBA taking all the underdogs every night.  I will update with tomorrow's lines, although I may wait until closer to game-time this time around since we are talking about taking all underdogs, which in most cases, it's better to wait.

Re: Anyone bet NBA Preseason?

This reminds me of another interesting little theory as it relates to MLB wagering. I have done this myself with 3-5 years ago being the most successful.

During the first two weeks of the MLB season I would take over in every single game. There are a ton of runs scored as the season just kicks off and this has worked out well for me. Last couple of years I have only been able to go about 7-10 days with this system but 4 or 5 years ago it was profitable for 18 days in a row

Good luck with the puppies, keep us posted

'All NBA Preseason Dogs Go To Heaven - Part 2'

Here are the underdog bets across the board for tonight's NBA preseason games.  All 100'ers at -110 except for the Mavs (They were +2 so I took them SU):

San Antonio Spurs
    +3½

Dallas Mavericks
    Moneyline +105

Phoenix Suns
    +6½

Los Angeles Clippers
    +5½

Results will be available after final score is in.

Re: Anyone bet NBA Preseason?

These lines are from BetUS.  I know it's not a "recommended" sportsbook, but they always give the best underdog lines available and I play on 4 different sportsbooks currently. BetUS always makes you pay high dollar for favorites, which gives an advantage to betting the underdogs.

All NBA Preseason Dogs Go To Heaven - Part 2 Results

If you have not been here.  I am testing a theory of betting ALL NBA preseason underdogs every day.  So, without further a due, here is Day 2's results:

Betting ALL $100 per dog across the board:

3-1 ATS (1 Outright Winner - Mavs +105)

Please note: There was one underdog I missed for the early game (New Jersey vs. Miami) that actually won outright.  I will make sure NOT to miss the early games from now on.

Please note: 4 of today's 5 NBA dogs not only covered, but exhibitedOUTRIGHT wins on the moneyline!

Overall record from this system to date:

7-4 ATS (1 Outright Winner - Mavs +105)

I will keep you posted tomorrow as the train rolls on. Also, I will be adjusting my per game allocation slightly from $100 to $135 as I am now playing with house money.

Check out Sports Interaction and Bodog for underdog lines. Usually both are better than BetUS

ALL NBA Preseason Dogs Go to Heaven - Part 3

Here we go, got these just now at $135 per game.  This system has produced a 7-4 overall record after 2 consecutive days and I will update records after last game score is in.  Please note, I bet on the moneyline if the spread is less than 2.5:

Knicks +5

Wizards +3.5

Pacers EV

Cavs +6.5

Bobcats +3

Hawks EV

Bucks +3.5

Hornets EV

T-Wolves +4

OKC +5.5

Re: Anyone bet NBA Preseason?

All NBA Preseason Dogs Go To Heaven - Part 3 Results

4-6 ATS

Overall 11-10 ATS

Barely breaking even at this point.  But, I will continue to test and at least give it through the weekend.  I feel like 7 days will be a good sample.  If it's successful, then by all means I will continue.

NBA preseason betting: Over and the dogs
By MATT FARGO

Preseason betting in any sport can be a tricky endeavor, but it can be an even bigger challenge in the NBA. In the NFL, we get good information from coaches throughout the week on player rotations, quarterback substitutions and sometimes even a look into the game plan.

In the NBA we don’t get this kind of information - although a coach may dish who will be getting the most and/or least playing time in certain games. Even with this info foul trouble, injuries and general fatigue can all hinder your research.

Looking at game-by-game matchups may take too long since this information is not readily available. Instead glancing at the league across the board may be the way to go.

Do certain teams try to win their preseason games? Are certain teams more apt to worry about looking at roster spots?

These questions need to be answered before blindly betting any teams. The age of a roster can help out greatly as an older team is going to play a lot of young players to avoid injuries and evade too much work early on.

The preseason betting line, like the NFL, will favor the home team the majority of the time so we can usually find some great value in the underdogs. So far this preseason, underdogs are hitting at a 66.7 percent clip, going 14-7 ATS. You will not find many big underdogs in the preseason since linesmakers do not know how teams are going to play these games out. Looking at underdogs of more than six points is usually a lucrative strategy. NBA teams dogged by at least six points are 6-2 ATS this preseason.

Another thing bettors should monitor during the exhibition calendar is totals. Linesmakers are normally a little bit slower to catch on to the proper number for a given preseason game. The under has been a big hit early on, but now may be the time to start betting the overs since totals will be adjusted and the value will flip to the other way.

Low scoring games tend to occur early on as players simply are not in shooting form and team offenses are still in the beginning stages of work. Start to look at over plays after a club’s third exhibition match.

Games are averaging 184.3 points per game, proving the point that these early games are low scoring. We should see a sharp increase once teams have had a couple games played. It’s important to note that scoring has gone up in the preseason in each of the last four years.

In 2004, the average preseason score was 182.7 ppg. That has risen each year to 187.4 in 2005, 195.4 in 2006 and 196.0 in 2007. The pattern may break this year but the totals should still rise from the current average as the preseason progresses.

Thank you for the information, thats great stuff, right on cue.  Here are the NBA Preseason Dogs for today - Part 5:

Philadelphia 76ers +4½

New Jersey Nets +2½

Utah Jazz +3

Sacramento Kings +7

Results will be in after last score.

Re: Anyone bet NBA Preseason?

I don't think this is a very viable system at all. Do you have any history on this type of strategy or are you just trying it for shits and giggles?

I would be very surprised to see this turn any kind of profit whatsoever. If it did it would no doubt be the exception not the rule.

Re: Anyone bet NBA Preseason?

I like to test different strategies with sports betting.  This past NFL preseason, I took all underdogs and hit about a 75% + rate - week 4 was ridiculous I hit at 80% taking all the dogs.  So, I wanted to try the same strategy with the NBA preseason and try my luck.  I figure I will give it 7 days and if I am not at least 60%, then I will move on.  No big deal, but if it turns a profit I will continue for another week.

Thanks for the feedback and by all means I am not encouraging anyone to try this.  I have a big enough bankroll where I can risk small investments in theories like this, just for fun.

Who are you?  The forum bully?  I guess there is a scamdicapping bully in every forum nowadays, geez.  Go out and get a life instead of this crap!  I wouldn't buy your scamdicapping picks if you were the last handicapping degenerate on earth! "Ask me about my handicapping service" - LMAO!  I will gladly fade you any day of the week like any other scamdicapper posting at this forum, and I advise anyone else to do the same if your reading this post.

Anyhow, moving on! Today posted very "viable" numbers going 3-0-1 with 1 outright winner from underdog New Jersey.  Looks like the dogs are profitable with NBA preseason just like NFL preseason.

Results Overall From Last 5 Days = 16-12-1

Back tomorrow with Monday's NBA dogs unless someone yanks this post!
