Vikings vs. Saints Who You Like

Vikings vs. Saints Who You Like

I took the Saints -2½ -125 at 5Dimes  smile

This game has 3 written all over it I think.

Re: Vikings vs. Saints Who You Like

Vikings have always had problems with big passing-offenses. Brees is down 3 WRs but there are still some good ones there and his quick release oughta help him not get tangled into Minny's Tampa-2 D. Saints D on the other hand, is like Dolly Partons titties without jello-fillings, wide spread and sagging so Peterson should be able to get through often enough.

I'm thinking over 46.5 and NO -TD - hard to see Vikings keep up, unless their secondary has a big game.

Meachum, Moore, Bush - Need I say more?  OK, Deuce is running the ball effectively again, so it seems.  The Saints will find ways to score even without Colston or Shockey.

Saints -3 (Wins by a TD or more)

Re: Vikings vs. Saints Who You Like

I'm on the under myself.  Average totals for Minn/NO combined since 2000 41.07, average totals Minn/NO this year 39.38.  I got the under 47 last night, thegreek.

Time for a change and see a Monday night game under for the first time this year, I hope!!

Saints make me nervous man. Saying their play is inconsistent is being generous.

I think the play is on the total here. I am leaning towards under given New Orleans injury situation

Re: Vikings vs. Saints Who You Like

Here is another way to look at this one tonight.  Who would you rather have your money on if that team were down a TD?  Let's review this:

Vikings - Against Green Bay, they trailed 7 at half-time, and never caught back up losing by 5.  A week later, they jumped out on Indy by 9, only to allow 18 Colts points in the second half - losing by 3.   In their 3rd loss to the Titans, they were down 10 in the first quarter, only to never recover losing by 13.  In their only win, they needed 2 gigantic turnovers at home against the Panthers who failed to score in the second half.

Do you see where I am going with this? To me, the Saints have the offensive explosiveness to get themselves out of a hole even if they go down early.  I don't see the Saints not scoring in this game at home on a Monday night.  The Vikings use ball control by pounding the football, and it's tough to deviate from their game-plan if they find themselves in a hole.  As evidence has proven they don't play well from behind and all 3 losses were result of playing catch-up.  This is an obvious result from putting all their eggs in one basket (running game + run defense).

The Saints are multi-dimensional with talent all over the field.  If they go up by 7 points or more, this game is likely in the bag by at least 3 points. If they go down by 7 or even 10 points, they have the deep attack, even without Colston, to put points on the board and still win in the end by 3.

It's tough when the betting public is hammering away at the Saints, and the line does not move.  This means Vegas is not scared of the public backing the Saints.  But, we have seen the betting pubic right on MNF many times before, this is nothing new.  Thats fishy that the line hasn't moved, but unless the Vikings comes up with, I am going to say 2 defensive TD's, they will lose this game by at minimum 3 points.  I may be eating crow tomorrow, but you won't see a 2 point win in this one.  Thats why the 3 points is the obvious play for this situation on Monday night.

Saints cover.

Re: Vikings vs. Saints Who You Like

Monday Night Flukeball - I'm never betting NFL again!

Psyche - Any nut who would have predicted the Vikings win or even cover would have been extremely lucky.  Good for the Vikings, finally get a road win on a bizarre night - props to those who bet the Vikings, nice luck - I can't give any serious props besides luck on any Vikings backers, sorry.

Either way, still would have played the Saints -3.  There are a lot of plays I regret over the years, this is not one of them.  The Vikings needed the football gods to rain down and give them the win + cover.  Still, they got their 2 TD's on turnovers as any team in the NFL would win if it were handed to them. Congrats Vikings.

From a jaded/stumped Saints backer on Monday Night Flookball.

Moving on to college prime time this week - some nice games ahead, so a bounce back is in order.

If we had a post of the day contest, this would win it for sure lmao.

This was wacky game for sure. If I played for the Saints I would get the soap and the socks out and go Full Metal Jacket on Gramatica. That clown should look for a job kicking rocks

Never expected an outcome like this, never expected such a high score.

Re: Vikings vs. Saints Who You Like

Wow, that's miraculous how anyone could have predicted the field goal block for a TD; the face-mask fumble; the AP fumble (that was never ruled a fumble); Brees with 4 TO's; and a chip shot missed field goal to win the game for New Orleans from a veteran kicker; and by far one of the strangest NFL games I have watched on MNF in years.

The Vikings needed a shit load to go their way to say the least, but that's MNF for you. Good pick I guess, or shall I say, good guess.

wink

Yikes, tough crowd. Guess it's not enough to hand out winners anymore now they have to be non-lucky winners to boot

Re: Vikings vs. Saints Who You Like

Man don't listen to me, I'm just jaded from the amount of craziness that game entailed and then losing on New Orleans  smile  Either way, good call for all Vikings backers, luck is part of gambling and there are no excuses to losing, no matter what happens in a game.  Teams like the Vikings feed off turnovers and the Saints shot themselves in the foot.  Backers of the Vikings surely saw the potential for turnovers on defense last night just like in that big win over Carolina a few weeks back.  The Panthers were up 10 going into half-time, then the Vikings score 3 unanswered TD's in 30 seconds off turnovers, etc.  Similar results to this game as the Vikings scored 17 points in the first half with only 38 total yards of offense - thats sick!

Good pick either way on the Vikings!
