Re: BOOKIES BATTLE THE POINTSPREAD! WEEK 4

Re: BOOKIES BATTLE THE POINTSPREAD! WEEK 4

For those of you who aren't familiar with this thread, Gaming Today, a Vegas paper that is published weekly, has
a contest each year, where they pit all the Vegas Bookies against each other to select ALL lined NFL games ATS.

The winner get $1000 but it's the bragging rights that these bookies have for a year that makes this contest worth while. The Bookie that comes out on top is usually hitting at a 60% record for the year! Now the AMAZING part of these selections!  The Bookies have to make their selections at least a week prior to this weeks games,
which makes them pick most of the time on Sunday night, BEFORE the SNF game is even over. Since this paper is printed on Monday for a Tuesday distribution, these Bookies really have no idea about injuries and such, unless they are obvious, when they make their picks.  But let's face it, the Bookies should have a handle on what the public is going to bet way before time.

What I do, is compare the choices the top 5 Bookies make, compared to the Consensus which is what all hotels pick! When you have the Bookies OPPOSITE of what the Consensus picks should be a VERY STRONG play. Right now they are hitting at a 70% rate. Pay attention to these plays! If you think that you have the winner, but the bookies have the opposite, please reconsider your play! It could save you a lot of money in the long run, even if you back off your play. You should write down the plays that you like, and see what happens!

don't think I've seen this before, and I've been writing this thread for years, a 6 way tie for the lead after I adjusted for the MNF game. So what I did was throw out the only bookie with a losing record last week. All the other Bookies had either 12, 11 or 10 wins. All lines are within a half point except the Cowboys who the bookies picked at -7.5.

Well the Eastside Cannery as we all know is the lastest casino to open barely a month ago, and Robert Jaynes had a 28-19 record with a great 12-4 record last week. Steve Harvey from the Edgewater-Laughlin had a 10-6 record. Lamaar Mitchell from the giant MGM-Grand was 11-5. Our newcomer, from my favorite haunt, Sam's Town, is Bob Schaeffer witha 10-6 record. And finally is Rob Akers from the Venetian with a 11-5 record. Honorable mention goes to Glenn M. from Texas Station who only went 7-9, but still had a 28-19 record. Sooo! Let's get started!

ROBERT JAYNES EASTSIDE CANNERY LW 12-4 YTD 28-19
..KC...CIN..JAX..ARZ..SF...ATL..TEN..GB..STL..OAK. .WAS..CHI..PIT

STEVE HARVEY EDGEWATER LW 10-6 YTD 28-19

LAMAAR MITCHEL MGM-GRAND LW 11-5 YTD 28-19

BOB SCHAEFFER SAM;S TOWN LW 10-6 YTD 28-19

ROB AKERS VENETIAN LW 11-5 YTD 28-19

CONSENSUS ALL HOTELS LW 7-9 YTD 23-24
.DEN..CIN..JAX..ARZ..NO..ATL..TEN..GB..STL..OAK..D AL...CHI..PIT
35.....34...40...38....35...43.....36...36..35.... 36....39.....41...45
All above numbers under the Consensus picks are the amount of times that team was selected out of 58 Bookies.

Last week, the teams that the Bookies selected that were opposite of what the Consensus picked were 3-2, with MIA, MIN and SD being the winners, and IND and CHI being the losers.

So what do we have this week? The only unanimous pick is PIT that is 5-0, followed by JAX, TEN, OAK and CHI that are 4-1.

Now we get to our differences. These are the teams that the top 5 Bookies picked that are OPPOSITE the Consensus. KC, CLE, NYJ, SF, TB, and WAS even though there is a 4 point difference in what the real line is opposed to what they selected at. The Bookies record of going against the Consensus is now 7-3 for a nice 70% record. This week they are liking the underdog as 4 of the picks are on teams that are getting points.

Let's all have a great week this week and make some money!

I recognize your name from "the way it was" (junkie's igloo) last year.
Is this the new forum? The other one seems to have gone away.

If not cheers and nice info.
