100 DIME - Memphis
Free Pick - Memphis/Kansas Over the Total (analysis on Free Daily Video)
It has been an unbelievable run with basketball championship releases.
You saw all the numbers on the outside. Those numbers tell you all you need to know.
Has it been a frustrating run here the last 3 weeks? Absolutely and nothing I do tonight with this game will change that.
This tough run still can't take away all that I have accomplished at the Championship level when it comes to releasing big plays.
It's one game. Two teams. Handicap it, get on the right side and let the chips fall where they may.
Those chips have fallen correctly 9 of the last 12 overall, including 6 straight basketball championship releases, and three 100 Dime winners in a row.
Yes people. 3 straight 100 dime winners and trust me folks, I take 100 dime releases as serious as anything else in life.
Super Bowl 2007 was a solid 100 dime winner on the Colts over the Bears. Then in the Elite 8 last year I hit another 100 dime winner on the Gators over Oregon. Off that winner, I waited all the way until this year's Super Bowl to come with 100 dimer #3 in a row on the Giants over the Patriots.
I truly hope you are ready for 100 dime winner #4 in a row tonight. I really do because it wouldn't be a 100 dimer if I wasn't pretty darn confident Memphis was your winner tonight.
Now let's go find out why Memphis beats Kansas tonight to become your National Champion.
100 DIME MEMPHIS - There’s something to be said about a Final Four Freshman, something special.
While I’m sure the names prior to my memory are beyond my years, I can remember as far back as 1977, when Mike O’Korean pumped 31 points through the nets for North Carolina, setting a then-Final Four freshman record, to lead the Heels past Jerry Tarkanian’s Runnin’ Rebels in the semifinals.
And through the years I’ve watched this tournament, not one single time can I say I’ve been more impressed than I am with Memphis’ Derrick Rose. His array of acrobatic moves leaves me speechless at times, like the other day against UCLA, which he sliced through with such ease. A hot knife through butter isn’t even a good enough cliché to use on him … he’s silk!
Other than John Calipari and his experiences while coaching Massachusetts, I can’t say there’s another catalyst for my choice in Memphis as your 2008 National Champion. Honestly, we haven’t seen phenomena like this since 2003, when Carmelo Anthony drowned Texas with 33 points, setting a national semifinals record for a freshman, and helped lead the Orangemen to the national title.
And quite frankly, I’d take Derrick Rose over the college-freshman player Carmelo Anthony.
Thirteen years ago Toby Bailey was extraordinary in guiding UCLA to an easy win over defending-national champ Arkansas, as he popped for 26 points to empower the Bruins, and no other freshman has scored more in a championship game. I believe that’s about to change.
Now, a quick disclaimer, as I realize Rose missed media sessions yesterday because of a stomach ailment – that’s old news. But he received treatment from trainers, according to wire reports, and he will play tonight … effectively. Christ, the kid eats Gummy Bears like they’re going out of style from what I understand. Do I feel an endorsement looming????
But seriously, Memphis has been overdue to get to this point in the Big Dance. As far back as the Keith Lee days, this team has been knock, knock, knockin’ on college basketball’s heaven’s door over the past two decades; and this year there’s no need to knock, as Calipari has the key.
This team has defied odds, critics, doubters and every bracket filler-outer in the nation. What the heck was I thinking the other day, loving UCLA like that against a team that had already knocked off Tom Izzo’s defensive Michigan State bunch and Rick Barnes’ rugged Texas squad?
The Tigers were just too special. Rose was too thorny for them to get near, and his supporting cast was dynamic. The same can be said tonight, as Kansas’ pressure defense won’t amount to much when it gets a whiff of this kid. He absolutely embarrassed UCLA, and you know what, if the kid had Lester Hayes-stick ‘em on his hands, he might have gone for 40. But the kid just isn’t that greedy.
Chris Douglas-Roberts was the team’s high-scorer, punching up 28 for the jungle stripes. Rose had 25, and never even made a three-point attempt. Instead, he made Darren Collison and Russell Westbrook look like those obstacles they used in last year’s All-Star Weekend battle between Kobe and D-Wade. He went around, over and under people; he was shaking and baking from the free-throw line, and on the most replayed move of Saturday, he left a UCLA quintet dizzy from a drive to the bucket that simply awed the Alamodome crowd. When it was said and done, the Bruins were grabbing their ankles, dripping sweat and in need of oxygen. Hell, I was tired just watching Rose go back and forth. Honestly, if the kid wore green felt during a game you’d think he was a tennis ball.
Again, it starts and ends with Rose – that’s the bottom line. But with Douglas-Roberts doing his part, Joey Dorsey being the Dutch Boy down low (he painted 15 rebounds on Saturday in the same key Love was in) and Antonio Anderson getting in on the scoring act, I don’t see Kansas’ defense mattering much after the road Memphis has traveled to get here.
Kansas opened up the 1-point favorite, and swarms of money has come in on Memphis – I realize this is normally a bad public-move sign. But this is not a game just being bet on by the squares. The largest betting groups in the world – yes, the real wise guys – are moving money on this game as well.
Why? It’s simple: At 38-1, Memphis has the most single-season victories in college basketball history. And these are no Kardiak Kids either; this is a team that has won its five games in this tournament by an average of nearly 16 points. And by the way, teams favored by five or fewer points are 10-0 ATS the past 10 National Championship games.
Guys, I don’t know which way the wind is blowing, what the weather will be like or if the sun will come out tomorrow. But what I do know, is along the lines of some of the most famous freshman performances in Final Four history – add Patrick Ewing and Michael Jordan in 1982, Pervis Ellison in 1986 and Greg Oden last season to the aforementioned fraternity – tonight we’re going to see Derrick Rose don a Memphis uniform for the last time in his short, but story-book, collegiate career.
And he ain’t headed to the NBA with a program and a T-shirt as his keepsakes from the Alamo. He’s leaving with the National Championship and the Most Outstanding Player award.
Memphis is your 100-Dime winner boys, as it rolls to a 77-71 win over Kansas.
Re: Monday Service Plays
Cleveland Indians (3-3) at Los Angeles Angels (4-3)
Cleveland's right-hander Fausto Carmona will make his first career start against the Angels. The Indians are 4-1 in Carmonas last 5 road starts.
Los Angeles' left-hander Joe Saunders is 2-0 with a 1.32 ERA in two career starts against the Indians.
Go with the Angels with Joe Saunders on the hill, the lefty was impressive against the Twins last Wednesday. He tossed eight shutout innings.
Los Angeles Angels + 100

Re: Monday Service Plays
1.) CUBS -105 (1*)...I really had to stop myself from making this one a 2* Wager...and the only reason is the fact that I wanted to get + money on them and thought that the possibility may have been there for it...its the start of a new week and we have a lot of action ahead of us so there is really no need to lose site of that fact just because I feel we have a Winner...I definately see some more possibilities on deck for these Afternoon games that I will have up soon...and found a BEST BET for Tonight that I am hoping to Confirm...so lets lay the -105 on the Cubbies and look for Lilly to have a good game this time out and the Cubs to be able to get some runs across and get him the WIN...
2.) OVER 7.5 (-105) SD/SF (2*)...I would have loved to get 7 and would have had absolutely no Problem laying -125 to get it...and because of that reason alone this one almost was going to be a 1* Total but I had said I wanted to get you Forum Members a nice 2* for the Free Card and this is the play that I feel we have the most value with...we all know Maddux can be hit for some runs and I really can't see Cain coming out and doing what he did in his 1st outing and needing only 8runs to CASH this Ticket looks like the right side...
3.) ORIOLES even (1*)...I know you are thinking how can I not be playing 2*s on this wager, especially since the O's have come through for us 2 Days in a Row and CASHED as our first 3* of the MLB Season....but remember, that was at +122 and its my responsibility to try and help you Manage your Bankrolls so that we can continue building...but after a Win like yesterday they should be flying high and Seattle should be hoping they can get out of Baltimore with their confidence in tact...now I know Cabrera scares some bettors but the truth is, the guy had the worst bull-pen support in the entire MLB, and there were flashes of excellent talent prior...lets go ahead and look to pick up one more Unit with the O's before they ship Seattle away shaking their heads wondering what just happened...
4.) UNDER 9.5 (-120) SEA/BAL (1*)...this series has gone from 11runs, to 10runs, to 5runs...and although I am not predicting a 3run game...I do feel that being able to get that hook on the 9 is just too nice to pass up in this one...lets go ahead and look for Balt to get the Win again at home and keep this game Under the Total for the 4th and Final Day Play for Monday....Best of Luck

50 DIMER - MEMPHIS....20 DIMER - MEMPHIS OVER....10 DIMER - INDIANS
50 DIMER - MEMPHIS TIGERS
Very impressed with the Tigers right now, and while Kansas certainly did a number on North Carolina on Saturday, I don't think the quick turnaround time to prepare for Memphis is going to work in Kansas' favor tonight.
The Tigers just present too many tough matchups for their foes, and while Kansas is better equipped than most at matching up with the Tigers, the G-Man's gut tells him that Memphis is the winner tonight.
What the Tigers did to a legit Texas team, and what they then did to one of the best defensive teams in the nation in UCLA, tells me they are going to be very, very tough on the Jayhawks tonight.
Obviously both teams have had very special season's, but the G-Man's money is on the Tigers tonight.
20 DIMER -KANSAS-MEMPHIS OVER
If I am backing Memphis to win this game, then it follows that I am playing the OVER.
The Jayhawks have been UNDER in all of their Big Dance games, while the Tigers have been OVER in all of their tourney games. Memphis loves to force the pace, and the transition baskets they have been getting in this tournament coupled with the timely 3-point shooting will see to it that this game also heads OVER the total.
As defensive-minded as the Jayhawks are, they do love to shoot the 3-ball, and run the court as well. Kansas is going to get sucked into playing a Memphis-type of game, and this one is heading OVER the total.
10 DIMER - CLEVELAND INDIANS
The Tribe left Oakland yesterday with the 2-1 win over the A's, and now they are on to a set with the Angels.
Both Carmona, and Saunders were lights-out in their first start, and I expect them to be tough on the hitters once again tonight.
This game is priced at a near pick, and the G-Man is going to go with the Indians to draw first blood in this 3-game set.

The Duke's Sports
San Diego (-102) [Maddux over Cain] for 1 Unit
Padres/Giants 4:35: The Padres have won 14 of the last 18 in this series and we'll stay on SD here. SF is struggling to produce runs (2 runs per game) and we don't think AT&T Park will help any as the Giants gear up for their home opener. We believe Greg Maddux still has some stuff left to stifle this average Giants' lineup with limited power (2 HRs). Maddux controls an 18-6 team mark with a 2.84 ERA pitching vs the Giants. The Padres, however, are batting a healthy .284 vs righties despite driving in just 3.1 rpg. Nevertheless, we'll side with SD to get enough of Matt Cain, who has not gotten any run support from his mates, especially in this series. Cain who has pitched brilliantly against SD, is only good for 7 innings tops, and then the shaky Giants' bullpen has to take over. And day games have not been good to the Giants over the last three seasons (47-66 including 0-4 this season). We'll grab the Padres.

Teddy June’s MLB Total of the Day
My 5* MLB Total of the Day is the Philadelphia Phillies/Cincinnati Reds Under the posted total. I currently have this line at 9 with plus juice. As always, Good Luck, Let’s make some money.
Teddy June’s MLB Game of the Day (MLB YTD: 11-3 79% +42.25*)
My 5* MLB Game of the Day is the Houston Astros over the St. Louis Cardinals. I currently have this line at -110. As always, Good Luck, Let’s make some money.
Teddy June’s College Basketball NCAA Championship Winner (8-0 Last 3 Days, 16-3 Last 19 Selections Overall)
My 10* College Basketball NCAA Championship Winner is the Memphis Tigers minus the points over the Kansas Jayhawks. Well here we are another College Basketball season closes tonight as the 36-3 SU Kansas Jayhawks face off against the 38-1 SU Memphis Tigers. Memphis finished their 3rd straight impressive win in the tournament with a 78-63 victory over UCLA as 2 point chalk, that followed an 18 point win over Texas as 3.5 point chalk and an 18 point victory over Michigan State as 5.5 point chalk. Quite impressive to beat 3 teams that at one point or another were in the top 10 in the rankings, 2 of which were in the top 10 basically the entire year in Texas and UCLA. Meanwhile Kansas is coming off a very impressive performance over North Carolina in which they exposed the Tar Heels weak defense and heavy reliance on settling around the perimeter. They were able to expose UNC down low as well just like Memphis was able to expose UCLA in the paint. Kansas’ tournament resume is not quite as impressive with a narrow win over Davidson and blowouts over Villanova, UNLV and Portland State. This will be the third straight game I will back Memphis after fading them against Mississippi State for a winning ticket and I will say this, the most impressive team from Game 1 of the season until now has been the Memphis Tigers bar none. Their terrific non-conference schedule at the beginning of the year which included Oklahoma, UConn, USC, Georgetown, Arizona, and Gonzaga was flat out impressive. I think their lone loss has really only helped them but allowing for them to be relaxed and not worrying about the undefeated season. Their dismantling of Michigan State, Texas and UCLA in the tournament has been impressive. I’ve said this over and over again in their recent games; Derrick Rose is the best point guard in the nation and in my opinion the best asset to his team. Rose while only a freshman plays like a senior veteran in the way he takes control as the floor general. This kid absolutely will be a NBA star more than any other player that will step out on the court tonight. His speed is very deceptive as he gets up and down the court, always takes high percentage shots and he is always plays in control. He absolutely dominated the UCLA defense which included 2 Pac-10 defenders of the year and while I do think Kansas will muscle him a bit more with Chalmers, Collins and Robinson but I still feel that the Jayhawks will not be able to contain him. The two other keys for Memphis have been CDR and then the big 3 down low. CDR versus Rush will be a very good matchup but I see CDR being able to take him off the dribble and being able to maneuver better than the UNC guards were able to. CDR is very much underrated and doesn’t get a lot of credit one because he plays at Memphis but two because he is extraordinarily crafty in finding angles to make buckets. At times this game will get into a track meet and what I like about Memphis that UNC doesn’t do is Coach Cal makes sure his kids not only get back on defense but that they actually guard them. Memphis is very much underrated defensively as they finished top 10 in FG% against, 3PT% against and PTS against. What I also like that they do is they come right at you with quick, efficient fast breaks that generally always lead to something good. CDR and Rose finish on a fast break better than any guards in the nation in my opinion. This game will come down Memphis’ ability to guard around the perimeter, their deceptive quickness, their depth, their unselfishness, their determination and the ability of their big man to bang the boards and get points in the paint. Memphis has flat out been the most impressive team the entire season of college basketball, they have something and they have turned it on in this NCAA tournament as you can just see the confidence when this team steps out on the floor. Kansas has had a great year as well but they are running into a Memphis team that has surprisingly been underrated due to the fact they come out of C-USA and a Memphis squad that has gotten no respect in the Media. I love the way Coach Cal has worked and handled this group he knows when to push buttons when to lay off he knows how to work the matchups and how to fit each players style into the scheme. When I go through the matchups in this one I expect it will be more competitive than some of the games we have watched recently especially considering both teams can d up. But when it’s all said and done, I will back the hottest team in the country who is also the deepest team in the country with the best point guard in the country to get the job done tonight and win the National title. It is also noteworthy that favorites of 5 or less points in NCAA championship games are 10-0 SU and ATS in the last 10 tries. I currently have this line at -1.5 and have this rated at 10* up to -4. My 10* College Basketball NCAA Championship Winner is the Memphis Tigers minus the points. As always, Good Luck, Let’s make some money
