Saint Peters vs. Niagara
Take Niagara Purple Eagles

1* on Niagara -14 Niagara faces a St. Peter’s team that is just 1-12 on the road this season. This may be a big spread, but you will be counting your chips by halftime. Niagara already beat St. Peter’s by 20 points on the road back on January 25th. Niagara is 9-1 SU and 5-2 ATS in their last 10 home meetings with St. Peter’s. Niagara won their last home contest with St. Peter’s by 33 points with a final score of 88-55. Niagara is 13-4 ATS when playing with one or less days rest over the last 2 seasons. Little rest does not bother this team, they are actually more sharp when this is the case. Take Niagara and lay the points.

La Salle vs. Saint Josephs
Take La Salle Explorers

1 Unit on La Salle +13.5 La Salle has been one of the best road teams in the nation against the spread. Despite a losing road record, La Salle is a perfect 8-0 ATS in road games this season which is all that matters in this business. La Salle will not be falling by double-digits tonight when they take on St. Josephs. La Salle has enjoyed 4 road wins in their last 5 attempts away from home with their only loss coming against Xavier. They nearly beat Florida State on the road earlier this year as well. One thing is for certain, La Salle isn’t phased by playing on the road. St. Joe’s is 2-11 ATS off a home win over the last 2 seasons. Cash in with La Salle as the underdog.

Big Al McMordie

Siena Saints v/s Manhattan Jaspers

At 7 pm, our complimentary selection is on the Manhattan Jaspers plus the points over Siena, as Manhattan falls into a 56-32 ATS system of mine. What we want to do is play on any home dog of less than 9 points, at Game 12 of the season or later, that is off a double-digit win as a home dog. The Jaspers check into tonight's game off back to back wins (following an eight-game losing streak). On Friday, Manhattan blew out Marist 83-62 to avenge a 76-66 loss to the Red Foxes on January 7, and on Feb. 10, Manhattan beat Canisius by double-digits, 97-87. Now, the Jaspers will go for their third straight win, and will be seeking revenge from a 13-point loss to the Saints on January 17. Manhattan has won seven of its last 10 home games vs. Siena, and it will pull the upset tonight. Take the points.

Re: Monday Service Plays

Black Magic Sports

5 Unit Black Magic Atlantic-10 GOTY on Rhode Island +2.5

Rhode Island gets their chance to put their name on the map tonight. Despite their 20-5 record with 4 returning starters this season, Rhode Island continues to get no respect nationally. Xavier is a very good team that gets much respect, but they may be playing this game without their floor general and leader in point-guard Drew Lavender. Lavender injured his ankle in a 2-point win over Charlotte in Xavier's last game. Lavender went scoreless in that game and was 0-5 from the field. Even if he plays, he won't be effective enough for this Xavier team to pull off a big road win at Rhode Island. Rhode Island is a perfect 11-0 in home games this season, winning by 17 points per game. All 5 of their starters can score in double figures which makes this team a tough out for any opponent. Xavier is 1-9 ATS after 6 or more consecutive wins over the last 3 seasons. Xavier has had several close wins lately, but they won't be escaping Rhode Island with another A-10 win tonight. Cash in with Rhode Island as the underdog.

3 Unit Sharp Play on Austin Peay +1

Austin Peay will continue to beat up on Tennessee State just as they have over the years. Austin Peay has won 9 out of their last 10 meetings with Tennessee State, yet they find themselves the dog in this match-up. We will gladly cash in on this line mistake set by oddsmakers tonight. Austin Peay has won 5 straight and 8 of their last 10 games to increase their record to 18-9 on the season. Austin Peay is 14-3 in conference play, while Tennessee State has a losing record within the conference. Tennessee State is 0-8 ATS in home games after playing 2 consecutive games as a home favorite since 1997. Tennessee State is 0-8 ATS after 1 or more consecutive wins this season. This is a great spot for Austin Peay. Cash in with Austin Peay as the underdog.

Locksmith Sports

1 Unit on St. Mary's -13.5

22-3 St. Mary's has a big edge over 9-17 Pepperdine tonight.  The Gaels barely sneaked by in the first meeting this season, but with a conference title well within their grasp, they will take care of business tonight and leave no doubt.  Pepperdine has lost 10 consecutive games to ranked opponents.  St. Mary's has won 5 in a row and 10 of its last 11.  It is 8-3 ATS during that time frame.  The Gaels are 9-1 in conference games this season and 7-3 ATS in those contests.  The Gaels are 11-3 ATS versus poor teams who are outscored by their opponents by 4+ points/game over the last 2 seasons, 15-6 ATS when playing against a team with a losing record over the last 2 seasons, 12-4 ATS versus poor defensive teams with a shooting pct defense of >=45% over the last 2 seasons, and  6-0 ATS in road games vs. poor rebounding teams outrebounded by opponents by 4+ per game after 15+games over the last 3 seasons.  Take St. Mary's!

Re: Monday Service Plays

LT Profits

San Jose State +4.5

The Utah State Aggies have quietly gone 18-8 this season, but they have not exactly played a killer schedule and we expect them to have a difficult time on the road vs. the San Jose State Spartans tonight.

Utah State’s schedule has been so weak in fact that they are have an RPI rating of 85, meaning that they probably need to win the WAC Tournament in order to reach the Big Dance in March. Worst of all, they have not been a good road team, going just 3-7 both straight up and against the spread away from home, getting outscored by an average of -6.7 points in those games. They are currently on a two-game losing streak with both losses coming on the road, and they have lost three of their last four road contests.

Now, San Jose State is 11-13 overall, but they have a winning 6-4 record here at home. Also, while the Spartans are just 3-8 in the conference, all three wins have come inside their last four home games, when they upset Nevada, New Mexico State and Fresno State.

Finally, while Utah State has won the last six head-to-head meetings SU, it is San Jose State that is 5-0 ATS in the last five matchups, and we look for that to continue tonight.

San Jose State +4.5

Re: Monday Service Plays

BEN BURNS

COLLEGE BASKETBALL

Burns Big Monday ROUT

I'm taking the points with SAN DIEGO. The Toreros, who play with "revenge" from a loss (still covered) at Gonzaga last month, bring plenty of confidence and momentum into tonight's game. That's because they've gone a perfect 7-0 (5-2 ATS) since that 1/19 meeting. That includes a solid 8-point win over St. Mary's, a ranked team which has defeated Gonzaga. The Toreros held the Gaels to a mere 55 points in that game. That type of excellent defense has been their trademark as they've allowed an average of just 57.4 points per game since the beginning of conference play and 59.7 on this floor for the season. That's worth noting as the Bulldogs have really struggled against quality defensive teams. In fact, they're just 2-9 ATS their last 11 games against teams which allow 64 points or less and a money-burning 8-20 ATS the past three seasons. During that same stretch, the Toreros have gone a profitable 20-10 ATS when listed as underdogs and 9-5 ATS when attempting to avenge an earlier road loss. They're also 5-2 ATS the last seven times they were listed as home underdogs in the +6.5 to +9 range. These teams are both tied with St. Mary's in the loss column in the WCC, making this a huge game. Not that the Toreros need any added motivation. However, it's still worth noting that their coach Bill Grier has added incentive to beat Gonzaga, as he was an assistant coach there before being named San Diego's head coach prior to this season. Look for Grier's Toreros to continue their recent strong play, taking this game down to the wire and earning (at least) the cover.

Burns Big Monday Total of the Month

I'm playing on Syracuse and Louisville to finish UNDER the number. These teams are both coming off back to back high-scoring games. That has helped keep tonight's over/under line generously high and I feel that we're now getting excellent value with the UNDER. Despite the relatively high final score of 77-70, looking at Syracuse's last game and we find that the Orange actually played well defensively, as they held the Hoyas to just 41.8 percent shooting. Note that the Orange have seen the UNDER go a profitable 19-9 the past few seasons when coming off a win vs. a Big East team in their previous game. Looking back further and we find the UNDER at 63-34 the last 97 times that the Orange played a game (with a total) after coming off a victory over a conference opponent. During that time, they've also seen the UNDER go 47-26 when listed as underdogs, including a perfect 5-0 when listed as road underdogs in the +9.5 to +12 range. As mentioned, Louisville also comes off back to back high-scoring games. However, both those games came on the road. In their most recent home game, the Cardinals help Georgetown to just 51 points in a game that stayed below the total by double-digits. In their previous game here, they limited Rutgers to just 50. Prior to that, they held St. John's to 57, Marquette to 51, West Virginia to 54 and Cincinnati to 58. For the season, they are allowing just 55.9 points per game on this floor while limiting opponents to a 36.8 shooting percentage. They've seen the UNDER go 12-7 the past few seasons when playing with one or less day's rest in between games and a profitable 15-4 after having scored 80 or more points in their previous game. They've also shown a longterm tendency to "slow things down" against high-scoring teams, as they've seen the UNDER go 37-19 the last 56 times (games with a total) they faced a team which scores 77 or more points per game. Look for another strong defensive performance by the Cardinals tonight and for the final combined score to fall below the number. *Big Monday TOM

NHL

Burns Conference GOW

I'm playing on the LA KINGS. The Coyotes, who defeated the Kings at Phoenix on Friday, have a much better record for the season. However, the Kings have actually earned more victories over the past five or six weeks. In fact, LA has won 10 of its last 17 games, including four of the last five at home, while Phoenix has won only eight of its past 17. That includes a 1-4 mark the last five times that the Coyotes played on the road. Despite picking up a couple of wins lately, note that the Coyotes remain an ugly 8-17 their last 25 games played in the month of February and 42-72 (-42.4) over the past decade. In addition to playing with "revenge" from Friday's loss, the Kings should be highly motivated to earn their first victory in the season series. Indeed, if not for losing every game against Phoenix, the Kings might still have a shot at the playoffs. Although they have played as well over the past several weeks as they have at anytime in recent memory, the Kings are priced much more reasonably than they usually are when they've been a host in this series. They were laying -165 and -175 for this season's two earlier meetings here and they've been favored by a minimum of -120 in 19 of the past 20 series meetings here. Note that although they were beaten in both games here this season, the Kings still remain a healthy 12-4 with four ties the last 20 times they hosted the Coyotes. Look for an inspired effort from the revenge-minded Kings as they do some damage to their division rivals and improve to 38-32 the last 70 times they played a home game with an over/under line of six or greater. *Western Conference GOW

Priceless Picks

1 Unit on Manhattan +4

I like the Jaspers catching a couple field goals at home.  Manhattan has looked very good in its past 2 games, beating Canisius and sticking it to a better Marist team.  Manhattan has won 7 of the last 10 home meetings in this matchup.  Siena heads out on the road after a disappointing home loss to Loyola-MD.  Without any momentum heading into Manhattan to play the streaking Jaspers, I don't think Siena can get the job done.  The Saints are just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite and will fail in the favorite role again here.  Take the points.
