Re: Wednesday Service Plays

Jim Feist.

My free pick of the day is the game between (503) MEM Grizzlies and (504) PHI 76ers. Take "Under". The hottest team in the East? Philadelphia is red hot, on a 4-0 SU/ATS run, and it's been because of defense, allowing 80, 84 and 76 points the last three games -- all under the total. Memphis just traded away its best offensive player for (chuckle) Kwame Brown. They've failed to top 100 points in 4 straight. In fact, they are on an 8-3 run under the total. Play the Grizzlies/76ers under the total!

Alex Smart

Phoenix Suns @ Golden State Warriors

Two offensively explosive teams go head to head this Wednesday night in the bay area in a game that promises to be a high scoring run and gun affair. The visiting Phoenix Suns are averaging 109.6 PPG on the season, while allowing 103.8 PPG. The host team, in this matchup the Golden State Warriors, are averaging 109.5 PPG, while allowing over 107 PPG. Bottom line: I know the total the linesmakers have attached to this tilt, it steep, but, it must be noted , that these teams in their L/3 meetings have combined to average a whopping 239.7 PPG . With that said, everything points to this being a one way offensive shoot out, that results in the score board malfunctioning from over use! Play OVER

Re: Wednesday Service Plays

Al McMordie

Boston Celtics at Indiana Pacers

At 7:05 pm, our member selection is on the Indiana Pacers plus the points over Boston. Since January 2005, the San Antonio Spurs have been the best team in the NBA, and have won two championships in that span. San Antone has a record of 182-74 in that span, so it is rare that a team defeats the Spurs. Not surprisingly, off a win over Tim Duncan & Co., teams suffer a letdown in their next game, and are a poor 27-42-4 ATS since January 17, 2005, including 20-40 ATS if their foe is NOT off back-to-back SU/ATS losses. The Celtics upended S.A. on Sunday 98-90 and they are 5-2 without Kevin Garnett in the lineup over their past seven games. But tonight's game against Indiana will be tough. The Pacers have not had a good season, but do come into tonight's game off back-to-back wins and covers.

James Patrick Sports

Knicks vs. Celtics

Even without Kevin Garnett the Boston Celtics have cashed winning tickets in 5 of 6 contests. Boston plays it’s final home game before it departs on the NBA road and they host the Knicks in this game. The first pair of games in this series have been mismatches in favor of Boston. We look for another tonight as New York has dropped 8 of 9 . Our Wednesday Complimentary selection is Boston Celtics.

Nelly

Connecticut – over Notre Dame

Notre Dame owns a great home court edge but the Irish have not been tested on the road having played just four games away from home this season. Notre Dame did win against Connecticut by six at the Joyce Center earlier this season but Connecticut nearly made up a 21-point deficit in the game after a poor start. Connecticut is currently on a seven game winning streak and the Huskies are 13-1 at home this season. Notre Dame is coming off a huge game against Marquette last weekend, earning revenge from a 26-point loss earlier in the season. It will be difficult to stop the momentum of Connecticut in this situation.

Marc Lawrence
Play On: Dayton

Note: After opening the season at 14-1 the Flyers blew a propeller and leveled out. They now look to regain their lofty status during the stretch drive of conference play and Duquesne looks to be the perfect flight partner. The visitors bring a winning record into today's game, which equates to value in this play. A closer look at the Dukes finds then 0-5 SU against winning teams since Game Seven this season. The series has been all Dayton, who despite last year’s loss, is 16-2 SU & 11-5-2 ATS aganst Duquesne, including 8-4-1 ATS at Dayton Arena. Look for the Flyers to take flight once again tonight. KEY STAT: Dayton is 3-0 SU & ATS with revenge against Duquesne.

581 Missouri @ 582 Nebraska

Play: Nebraska -2.5

Missouri now has just one route to the NCAA Tournament and that's through the conference tourney. The Tigers are not good on the road and they're struggling right now. Nebraska already beat the Tigers in Columbia and they're a good bet to score the series sweep with the win and cover this evening.

Great Lakes Sports

Phoenix at Golden State
Play on: Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns are 67-53 ATS when playing on the road the last three years, and 46-28 ATS when revenging a loss vs an opponent the last three years. The Phoenix Suns are also 83-70 ATS after scoring 105 points or more the last three years, and 72-47 ATS vs a team with a winning record the last three years. We look for the Phoenix Suns to roll over the Golden State Warriors for the road ATS Win & cover tonight.

Tom Scott

Northeastern at HOFSTRA

Play ON: NORTHEASTERN plus the points

You cannot talk about hot teams in the Colonial Athletic Conference without mentioning Northeastern. The Huskies have ripped off four straight wins and covers, all against teams with better records than Hofstra. What makes this pick work is the fact that Northeastern's last loss was to this very opponent, a 70-65 defeat as a seven-point home favorite. Hofstra, on the other hand, tries as hard as it can to avoid winning streaks. The Pride, who is off a win over luckless Georgia State, has yet to win back-to-back games this season (0-7 SU off a win). As one of the three better record dogs with revenge playing on tonight's college card, we'll take any points available with the surging Huskies here.

PREDICTION: NORTHEASTERN 69 - Hofstra 60

Jimmy The Moose

Game: Washington Capitals at Atlanta Thrashers
Prediction: under

Reason: The Capitals have played under the total in 6 of their last 8 games vs. Eastern Conference opponents. The under is 5-1 in their last 6 vs. a team with a losing record. Atlanta has played the under in 8 of their last 10 games. The Thrashers last 4 games have gone under the total. The under is 6-1 in their last 7 vs. Eastern Conference opponents. The under is 5-0 in Washinton's last 5 trips to Atlanta. The under is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings overall between the clubs. Play the under.

Mississippi vs. Alabama
Take Alabama Crimson Tide

Ole Miss is 1-4 as the visitor and Alabama is 10-6 at home. The Rebels are ranked 251 in defense which does not help their road game. In the past 6 weeks the Rebels have played 4 games on the road and lost all four. The Crimson Tide are coming off recent home wins over Auburn and LSU. Take the side on Alabama.

San Antonio vs. Cleveland
Take Cleveland Cavaliers

Wednesday a road weary Spurs limp into Cleveland and expect an easy victory over the tema they defeated in the NBA Championship last year. OK maybe they won't limp in but it is not the team of last year with Parker out. Cleveland is not much better with their injuries but they proved to Orlando and the rest of the world they are not out of this yet. Expect a fired up Larry Hughes and LeBron James to upset the Spurs today.

Sports Gambling Hotline

The Tigers played solid in their first game without John Brady as coach, as they nearly stunned Tennessee in a 47-45 defensive contest. We don't see a reprise tonight against the Gators, as Florida can light up the scoreboard on you in a hurry.
The Gators stand at 15-1 straight up at home, and they have gone 5-2 against the spread in games played at the O-Dome. Billy D's team is also a solid 7-3 against the spread their last 10 games, and they have covered the spread in 10 of their last 13 versus the SEC.

The Tigers meanwhile have dropped 10 of their last 11 games straight up, and they are just 4-6 against the spread on the road this season.
Play on the Gators to open this one up big!

Mountain West Conference college battle tonight as we've got a FREE play on San Diego State as the Aztecs host New Mexico.

The Lobos are just a one of the worst road teams you're going to find in college basketball and while San Diego State isn't the greatest team in the Mountain West Conference, they will deliver us a winning ticket in this one.

New Mexico has just gotten drilled the last two times they've hit the road, losing at New Mexico 79-60 as a 5 1/2-point 'dog and at BYU 83-66 as a 6 1/2-point pup. The Lobos are 4-5 overall on the road but the wins came early in the season and not against conference competition.

The Aztecs have been getting the job done at home, winning four of their five conference games in front of the home fans (3-2 ATS). Last time out at home was Feb. 6 when they played an ugly one against the Air Force, winning 49-38 as 10-point favorites.

San Diego State has won three of the last four at home over the Lobos and they are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 Wednesday tip-offs.

New Mexico State is just not a good team and the Aztecs have to get this one to remain in the top three in the league. Play San Diego State tonight and watch as they deliver a good 7-10 point win.

3* SAN DIEGO STATE

Selection: Minnesota -4.5

Today Illinois will be on the road as they take on Minnesota. We will lay the points with Minnesota! The Minnesota offense should be able to control this game from start to finish. Minnesota (at home) is scoring an average of 73.8 points per game, while Illinois (on the road) is scoring an average of only 60.6 points per game. That means the Minnesota offense is scoring an average of 13.2 points per game more then the Illinois offense. It's also good to note that the favorite is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings between these teams. Lay the points! Take Minnesota -4.5!

MATT RIVERS

For Wednesday take the points at home with Texas Tech

This really is a huge game for Pat Knight and his Texas Tech Red Raiders. The team has dropped the first two games after Bobby Knight quit but neither loss was really a surprise as they were on the road against solid competition in Baylor and Nebraska. Now at home Tech needs to establish something and prove how the program is just not all of a sudden going to turn to crap.

Michael Beasley is an absolute stud and the Wildcats have been extremely surprising and very very good this season but the road is never easy and I'll take a few points or so back with a Tech team that does have an upside. These guys have won six straight at home and have covered all seven line games in Lubbock. Beating Texas A&M, Missouri and Oklahoma State and covering against Stanford in a one point loss is not that shabby at all. This should be another game where the Raiders are able to control pace at home and prove they are better than the oddsmaker seems to be giving them credit for when on their home court.

This game will be hard fought but after seeing Kansas State implode on the highway a few weeks ago against a beat up Missouri team combined with Tech's success at home definitely has me all over this home dog.

Cajun Sports

Game: William & Mary vs. NC-Wilmington

Rating: TWO-Star

Selection: NC-WILMINGTON -6.5

Trask Coliseum has been the site of five straight wins both straight up and against the number by Wilmington. William & Mary will attempt to break that trend today but they will find it to be tough going as UNCW has developed a decent inside presence with C Kuljanin and this opens up the floor for their guards Carter, Tomko and Fountain. Like most teams Wilmington plays better at home and they will take advantage of their new found ability to play an inside out scheme on the offensive end of the floor. We expect UNCW to be able to control both the tempo and pace of this contest and get the win here even a possible double-digit affair. UNCW coming in off a win now installed as a home favorite they are 34-19-1 ATS. If they won ATS in their last game and are now a favorite in the 3 to 7 price range they are 15-3 ATS. UNCW is 11-0-1 ATS if they won at home in their last game and are now a conference favorite of 3 to 7 points. William & Mary coming off a SU loss in their last game now involved in a game with a line range of 3 to 7 points they are 10-22-1 ATS, if they are playing on the road the record falls to 1-8 ATS their last 9. UNCW qualifies in one of our angles that tells us to play on a team that went over the total in their last game and are now installed as a conference home favorite of 3 to 7 points these teams are 161-115-4 ATS.

Re: Wednesday Service Plays

Karl Garrett

Going to go with the underdog Badgers who are coming off that stunning home court loss this past Saturday to Purdue. Wisconsin was able to bottle up Indiana in a 62-49 win and cover back on January 31st for their third win in the last five games in this rivalry.

No doubt the Hoosiers have been playing top-flight hoops right now, and they do sport a modest 3 game winning streak as they take to the court tonight. Problem is, Indiana is just 4-6-1 against the spread at home this season, while Wisconsin has been able to cover 5 of 8 on the road this year.

The Badgers defense gives them a chance in any game they play, and the fact Wisconsin is catching a few baskets in this one makes the propostion even better.

G-Man says to grab the points and play the Badgers in this Big 10 tilt!

LOBOS LOBOS LOBOS - We love the revenging New Mexico squad tonight as the Lobo's just pounded Wyoming and Colorado State the last 2 games. We have a Lobo's team that is leading the WAC in 3-point shooting and we will play on a J.R. Giddens led squad to blow out the Aztecs tonight. New Mexico by Double Digits

3* on San Antonio Spurs -2

The Cleveland Cavs are dealing with a ton of injuries that will simply be too much to overcome when they take on the defending champs tonight.  Cleveland is without Sasha Pavlovic and Anderson Varajeo for sure.  Daniel Gibson, Drew Gooden, Zadrunas Ilgauskas and Damon Jones are all dealing with nagging injuries as well.  A recent 30-point home loss to the Nuggets shows you a little sample of what these injuries mean for the Cavs.  Despite being without Tony Parker, the San Antonio Spurs have won 5 out of their last 6 games with their only loss coming against the best team in the league, the Boston Celtics.  San Antonio is 14-3 ATS after having won 4 of their last 5 games this season.  Bet San Antonio at home.

1 Unit on Bobcats -1.5

The Bobcats do not want to set a new mark for their longest losing streak of the season.  We'll take them at home tonight as they take on a Hawks team which is also struggling.  Atlanta may be decent at home, but the road has been a different story.  Atlanta is just 6-16 away from home and 9-13 ATS in those games.  Charlotte has had Atlanta's number winning by of the last 6 home meetings SU and ATS.  The Hawks had to claw their way back against a tough Pistons team last night only to lose which is going to make it very difficult for them to get up for this one.  Atlanta is just 3-13 ATS in road games when playing on back-to-back days over the last 2 seasons.  Take the fresher Bobcats at home.

STRIKE POINT SPORTS

3-Unit Teaser. #533 Take Ohio -.5 and #611 Davidson -2 over UNC Greensboro

Here's two favorites that will take care of business on the road in conference play. Both are the stronger teams here, and we like them to get the job done in reasonable fashion. Ohio has played well in the competitive MAC, while Davidson is perfect in Southern play, and they'll stay unbeaten tonight.

3-Unit Play. #551 Take Rhode Island +2 over Temple

We backed the Rams as our Game of the Week this past Sunday, and we like them to continue their strong play again in this one. Rhode Island has made a very strong case so far for an outright NCAA bid, but you also can't rule them out for a good chance at the A-10 title. Anyways, they will move forward and chalk up another conference victory over Temple.

2-Unit Play. #565 Take South Carolina +2.5 over Georgia

The Gamecocks have done fairly well under the radar in the SEC. They dropped their last game to Vandy by one, but prior to that they did beat and cover against Georgia at home, as well as knock off Mississippi. The Bulldogs are without Billy Humphrey and are losers of five straight. Here South Carolina will take the season series with a win in Athens.

3-Unit Play. #559 Take Arkansas Little Rock +1 over FIU

The Trojans are the play here at 15-8, and they are just that much better over a Golden Panthers team that is only 7-16. The road team is 8-2-1 ATS in the last eleven meetings, and ALR is looking for its third straight win in this series. Florida International is just 2-7 in its last nine games overall, and with the underdog also being 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings, we'll take the stronger team. That's Arkansas Little Rock.

2-Unit Play. #585 Take Baylor PK over Oklahoma State

Coming off tow tough losses to Big 12 powers Texas and Kansas, I think upstart Baylor will bounce back nicely. The Bears held a double digit lead over the Longhorns but were not able to hold on, and at Kansas last weekend they came up short in a very high scoring, back-and-forth game. I have not been a fan of what the Cowboys have done this season, and Baylor could use a win to get things back rolling in the win column. They'll do so in Stillwater.
