Oilers D Sheldon Souray out for season with shoulder injury
ASSOCIATED PRESS

EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) - Edmonton Oilers defenseman Sheldon Souray will miss the rest of the season with a left shoulder injury.

He underwent arthroscopic surgery last week after being placed on injured reserve.

Souray has been hampered with shoulder problems since suffering a second-degree sprain during a game at Vancouver last October 13.

He has three goals and seven assists in 26 games after he signed a $27-million, five-year deal with the Oilers last year.

Edmonton beat the Wild Tuesday night 4-2 despite being without its top defenseman. The Oil were +135 underdogs in that game.

The Oilers hit the road next for a four-game road trip beginning in San Jose Thursday night.
