'Porn' domain name sells for $9 million

A Detroit-based Internet media and investment firm has acquired the domain name porn.com for more than $9 million.
According to the selling broker, Moniker.com, the price tage is the second highest ever paid for a domain name. Sex.com sold in 2005 for $12 million.
Plans for the domain were not revealed by MXN Limited, the new owner. It said on its website that development will be a "longer-term project."
"We will take our time with PORN.COM," the announcement said. "The possibilities with PORN.COM are limitless. To rush its development just to get something brand new 'live' would be foolish."
