- Richard Jefferson, Nets, scored 24 points, including the game-winning basket with 8.3 seconds left to give New Jersey a 98-97 win over Toronto.

MOVING ON

New Jersey beat Toronto 98-97 on Friday night to win its first-round series 4-2. The Nets, the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference, advance to the second round for the fifth time in six years. New Jersey, which won 10 of 13 games down the stretch of the regular season, head to Cleveland to face LeBron James and the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference semifinals starting Sunday.

HOME SWEET HOME

The home team has been the victor in 28 of 40 first-round NBA postseason games played so far, including New Jersey''s 98-97 home win over Toronto Friday night. The Nets were 5-0 against the Raptors in New Jersey this season, including three in winning the playoff series 4-2. The home team has been dominant in the Western Conference, winning 17 of 22, including all six games so far in the Utah-Houston series.
