STARS Monday

SNAPPED

CLUTCH

LONGEVITY

Detroit''s Chris Chelios participated in his 237th playoff game, passing Mark Messier for second place in NHL history. Patrick Roy played in 247 postseason contests.

NOT SO SPECIAL

Vancouver is just 4-for-58 (6.9 percent) on the power play this postseason, the worst among active playoff teams. ... San Jose''s power play dropped to 4-for-42 in the postseason after going 1-for-5 in a 2-1 victory over Detroit on Monday night.

DISAPPOINTING

San Jose right wing Bill Guerin, a pricey trade-deadline pickup, has no goals in eight playoff games.

SPEAKING

''At some point something''s going to have to go in. It just happened to be on my shot. If I had five more shots like that, probably none of them would go in.'''' - Ottawa''s Tom Preissing, who scored the first goal in a 2-0 victory over New Jersey on Monday night. The Senators lead the Eastern Conference semifinal series 2-1.
