Earnhardt Jr. pulling double duty at Bristol
SCENEDAILY

Dale Earnhardt Jr. will pull double duty at Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend, adding the Sharpie Mini 300 Busch Series race to the Food City 500 Nextel Cup event.

Earnhardt Jr. will drive the No. 8 Dale Earnhardt Inc. Chevrolet in the Busch race, with sponsorship from Menards. Mike Greci is the crew chief. Earnhardt Jr. is part of a 45-car entry list for Bristol.

Jeff Burton won't get a chance to win his third Busch Series race in a row this weekend at Bristol, as he's not entered in the Sharpie Mini 300.

Scott Wimmer will be behind the wheel of the No. 29 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet as a teammate to Clint Bowyer (No. 2) and Timothy Peters (No. 21). Points leader Carl Edwards will be joined by Roush Fenway Racing teammates David Ragan (No. 6), Todd Kluever (No. 16) and Matt Kenseth (No. 17). Roush Cup driver Greg Biffle is running Brewco Motorsports' No. 37 Ford as a teammate to Ward Burton.

Kevin Conway will make his first appearance in a Joe Gibbs Racing Chevrolet, driving the No. 18. Aric Almirola will be in Gibbs' No. 20.

Mike Bliss is entered in Fitz Motorsports No. 22 for the first time this season. Other infrequent drivers in the Bristol Busch race include Ryan Newman (No. 12 Penske Racing Dodge), Stanton Barrett (No. 30 Stanton Barrett Motorsports Chevrolet), Brad Teague (No. 52 Means Racing Ford), Caleb Holman (No. 75 Henderson Motorsports Chevrolet) and Alex Garcia (No. 98 Transnet Racing Chevrolet).

Defending Raybestos Rookie of the Year Danny O'Quinn is making his first start of 2007, driving the No. 56 Chevrolet for Mac Hill Motorsports.

Harvick driving his own car in Busch race
SCENEDAILY

Kevin Harvick returns to his own car for the NASCAR Busch Series race this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway, driving the Kevin Harvick Inc. No. 33 Chevrolet piloted by Tony Raines a week ago.

Harvick has 11 top-10 finishes in Busch starts at Bristol, including four wins and three poles. He has completed 3,488 of 3,564 laps in races there (97.9 percent), leading 938 of those. He also enjoyed his first weekend sweep of races at a track at Bristol, winning the Busch and Nextel Cup series races there in April of 2005.

"Bristol is my favorite place to go," Harvick said. "I enjoy the short-track stuff, and we've always been fortunate to run really well there. We go there with high expectations, but you never know what's going to happen there.

"You can get caught up in a wreck in a hurry and have your day end early. You have to go there and enjoy it but know that the outcome could be the opposite of what you want it to be."
