By Associated Press

Atlanta at Dallas (8:30 p.m. EST). The Mavericks have won 11 straight.

STARS
Sunday

-Amare Stoudemire, Suns, scored 43 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead Phoenix to a 115-106 victory over Atlanta.

-Vince Carter, Nets, scored 40 points and New Jersey beat New York 101-92.

-Kevin Martin, Kings, scored 35 points in Sacramento's 110-93 win over Indiana.

-Tracy McGrady, Rockets, had 34 points to help Houston beat Orlando 97-93.

-Ricky Davis and Kevin Garnett, Timberwolves. Both combined for 53 points and 22 rebounds and Minnesota held on to beat Washington 98-94.

UNHAPPY HOMECOMING

Detroit beat Chicago 95-93 on Sunday. It was Ben Wallace's first game at The Palace since leaving to play for the Bulls. Wallace was greeted by a mix of boos and cheers when he was introduced, then was booed virtually every time he touched the ball. He finished with six points, eight rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks.

ON SECOND THOUGHT

Miami guard Dwyane Wade will seek a second opinion early this week before deciding whether to rehabilitate his dislocated left shoulder or have season-ending surgery to repair the joint. If Wade chooses the rehab option, he could return to Miami's lineup in about six weeks, or with around 10 regular-season games remaining. Wade entered Sunday as the NBA's fourth-leading scorer, averaging 28.8 points per game, and ranked seventh in the league with 7.9 assists per game.

OUT

Washington all-star forward Caron Butler missed the game at Minnesota on Sunday with lower back spasms. Butler is averaging 20.3 points and 7.6 rebounds, both second on the team. Washington lost to Minnesota 98-94. ... Sacramento forward Ron Artest missed the Kings' game Sunday night against the Indiana Pacers, his former team. Artest was not with the team for personal reasons, a team spokesman said without elaborating. The Kings defeated the Pacers 110-93.

STRONG IN DEFEAT

LeBron James had game-highs of 29 points and seven assists but the Cavaliers lost to Miami 86-81 on Sunday. ... Joe Johnson scored 28 points but Atlanta lost to Phoenix 115-106. ... Dwight Howard scored 18 points and pulled down 16 rebounds in Orlando's 97-93 loss to Houston.

SPEAKING

''He's a beast.''-Atlanta's Josh Smith said of Amare Stoudemire after the Hawks 115-106 loss to Phoenix on Sunday. Stoudemire scored a season-high 43 points, added 16 rebounds, three blocks and six assists and the Suns improved to 13-0 in road games against the Eastern Conference.

Wade to seek second opinion on shoulder injury
Sun, Feb 25, 2007
By Associated Press

MIAMI -- Heat guard Dwyane Wade will seek a second opinion early this week before deciding whether to rehabilitate his dislocated left shoulder or have season-ending surgery to repair the joint.

''The sooner the better,'' Miami coach and president Pat Riley said Sunday, before the Heat played host to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

If Wade chooses the rehab option, he could return to Miami's lineup in about six weeks, or with around 10 regular-season games remaining. He was presented with his recovery options Thursday, one day after suffering the injury in a collision with Houston's Shane Battier, but has not announced any final decisions.

Riley said the team ''encouraged'' Wade to collect more information.

''He's sore. He's all strapped in,'' said Riley, who spoke with Wade for about 10 minutes by telephone Saturday night. ''We had a good conversation.''

That conversation, though, did not include Riley offering any opinions on which tact he wants Wade to take. It was the first time Wade and Riley had spoken since the injury; Riley said he FedEx'ed Wade a letter on Thursday because he was having trouble reaching him by telephone.

''I asked him why I wasn't in his 'Fave 5,''' Riley said, referring to Wade's sponsorship deal with T-Mobile. ''I did, because obviously, I wasn't getting through.''

Wade entered Sunday as the NBA's fourth-leading scorer, averaging 28.8 points per game, and ranked seventh in the league with 7.9 assists per game.

Wade has not met with reporters since suffering the injury. He was not expected to travel with the Heat on Sunday night to New York, where the team will meet the Knicks on Monday, but may rejoin the club before the reigning NBA champions get to meet President Bush at the White House on Tuesday.

''I do believe he wants to go to the White House,'' Riley said. ''I think it's a great honor. You only get one picture like that - or maybe more. Depends on how many times you win a title. I think he can fly. I just don't know.''

New York forward David Lee (high ankle sprain) said it was probably "less than 50-50", that he can play Monday night against the Heat.

Washington forward Antawn Jamison (knee) is out for Tuesday's game against the Nets.

Artest back in Sacramento lineup tonight
Mon, Feb 26, 2007

After missing last night's game against the Indiana Pacers, Ron Artest is expected to play tonight.

The Sacramento Kings gave the forward permission to attend to a family issue in New York on Sunday, but Artest has told the team he will return in time for tonight's game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Sacramento Bee reports Artest sent an email to the team saying he would play against the 76ers.

Artest is averaging 18.7 points 6.7 rebounds and leads the league in steals (2.23) this season.
