BOSHED OVER

Chris Bosh scored a career-high 41 points and outplayed Dwight Howard in a matchup of All-Star big men as Toronto won their season-high fourth straight with a 113-103 victory over Orlando on Wednesday night. Bosh, who scored 31 points in the second half, went 13-for-25 from the field and 15-for-17 from the line. His previous career high was 37 points on Dec. 27, 2005, against Detroit.

TRIPLE THREAT

Kevin Garnett had 17 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists, and Minnesota snapped a four-game losing streak by beating the Golden State Warriors 121-93 on Wednesday night. Garnett had 11 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in the first half, then reached his 17th career triple-double with an assist with 3:05 remaining in the third quarter. It was Garnett's first triple-double since April 13, 2005, also against Golden State.

SLUMPING

Boston extended its team-record losing streak to 16 games on Wednesday night with a 91-79 loss to Miami. The Celtics have not won since beating Memphis on Jan. 5.

SNAPPED

STRONG IN DEFEAT

Dwight Howard scored 32 points but Orlando lost to Toronto 113-103 on Wednesday night. ... Gilbert Arenas scored 29 points in Washington's 110-83 loss to San Antonio. ... Pau Gasol scored 29 points but it wasn't enough as Memphis lost to Dallas 113-97.

OUT

Indiana forward Jermaine O'Neal was deactivated for Wednesday night's game against Seattle because of swelling in his left knee. O'Neal, Indiana's leading scorer and rebounder, banged his knee in a game at Memphis last week. He played Monday night against Golden State, but the swelling worsened Wednesday. The Pacers lost to Seattle 103-102.

BAR BRAWL

Indiana Pacers guard Jamaal Tinsley and teammates Marquis Daniels and Keith McLeod were involved in a fight with a bar manager after a home loss to Golden State, police said. No one was immediately arrested or charged after the Tuesday fight. Indianapolis police Lt. Doug Scheffel said Wednesday it would take several days to complete the investigation to determine if charges would be filed.

SPEAKING

''Maybe I should let the clock run down and get the last shot. I thought, 'Forget it, go attack it, see what happens. If I miss it, maybe we can get a putback or something.''' - Vince Carter after New Jersey beat Atlanta 87-85 Wednesday night. Carter made the go-ahead layup with 7.6 seconds remaining, grabbed a critical rebound on the Hawks' final possession, and the Nets snapped a four-game losing streak.

Miami F Hicks suspended indefinitely
Wed, Feb 7, 2007
By Associated Press

CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Miami's already-thin frontcourt suffered another blow Tuesday, when forward Raymond Hicks was suspended indefinitely for an unspecified violation of team rules.

"We are very disappointed to lose Ray," Miami coach Frank Haith said. "However, we have certain team rules and when you make a choice to break those rules there are consequences."

Hicks was averaging 5.6 points and 2.7 rebounds for Miami, which is already missing most of its big-man rotation.

Center Anthony King (wrist) and forwards Adrian Thomas (abdominal) and Fabio Nass (knee) have all been lost to season-ending injuries, and forward Jimmy Graham has missed Miami's last six games with a broken hand.

Lakers' Kwame Brown Out Another 4-6 Weeks

In the LOS ANGELS TIMES, Mike Bresnahan writes "center Kwame Brown will be
sidelined another four to six weeks after seeking a second opinion from a foot
doctor Wednesday in Indianapolis. Specialist Dave Porter confirmed the Lakers'
earlier diagnosis of a severely sprained left ankle and a bone bruise, and gave
Brown a timetable to return next month, sources said. Brown, averaging 8.7
points and 6.6 rebounds, has been out since landing awkwardly after blocking the
shot of Philadelphia guard Andre Miller on Dec. 31. He has sat out 18 games."
