According to oddsmakers, Pacquiao is the clear favorite to retain his WBO Welterweight Championship on Saturday night with a money line of -800 while Marquez has odds of +500. These two will square off from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada and the event will air live on HBO PPV on Saturday at 9PM ET. Here is a look at both fighters and our pick for the bout.

Manny Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38 KO’s)

Strengths: Pacquiao is one of the fastest boxers in history and his speed and power combination have allowed him to find success at a number of different weight classes. At just 32 years of age, Pacquiao has a youth edge on the elder Marquez and he also owns four knockdowns on Marquez in the previous two contests. Pacquiao hasn’t suffered a loss since 2005 and has made most fights look easy since that time.

Weaknesses: It is hard to say Pacquiao has a weakness, but against Marquez, he has struggled to finish the fights. In both contests Pacquiao was able to score early knockdowns, but not polish off Marquez. In fact, Marquez has seemed to gain steam as the fight prolonged.

Juan Manuel Marquez (52-5-1, 39 KO’s)

Strengths: Marquez has been quite the knockout artists in his own right. His last two bouts have ended with a KO, including a first round KO back in July. Marquez also has a tough chin. He has suffered knockdowns against Pacquiao but still kept fighting and seemed to be more relentless after the falls.

Weaknesses: Marquez is 38-years-old, so he is a bit on his way down the prime age for a boxer, but he still has a lot of heart for his age. Clearly the past fights he has shown the ability to start a bit slow, which he may not have the luxury to do this time around against Pacquiao. In a close fight, Marquez will probably be the one to suffer. Fans want a Pacquiao win to set up a bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr, so Marquez will have to clearly win the rounds to earn the points on the judges’ scorecards.

Who to pick: Marquez has put up a great effort against Pacquiao in the past, but I see this fight going to the champion definitely. Pacquiao clearly has the power to finish this fight and this time I think he will. I see him fighting a consistent fight and landing the big finish in the 8th round to secure his superiority over Marquez. BOXING FREE PICK: Manny Pacquiao -800
