UFC 166 Free Picks
HOUSTON, TX (The Spread) – UFC 166 is set to take place on Saturday night. Here are a few picks to consider from this card.
UFC 166 will take place from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas with the main card bouts airing live on PPV at 10PM ET. All odds are according to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv.
Each man owns a win over the other but Velasquez win speaks louder. The current champion dominated Dos Santos for 25 minutes in the last meeting while JDS was able to score a quick KO in the first encounter. Can JDS do that again? Sure, but Velasquez is a smart fighter and he will push a pace that will tire Dos Santos quickly, just like he did in the last meeting. This time, Velasquez will look for a statement and get the finish. Look for the champion to retain via choke in the fourth round. UFC 166 FREE PICK – Cain Velasquez -205
Similar to the main event, this fight is all about Nelson attempting to land a lucky punch and Cormier is good at avoiding that. Despite cutting down in weight for a potential move to 205 pounds, Cormier is still very strong and should be able to out-wrestle Nelson and earn a dominant decision victory. UFC 166 FREE PICK – Daniel Cormier -600
The underdogs aren’t strong for this guard, but there is a lot of potential for one in this bout. Jordan is a big, strong fighter, but he is unproven in the UFC and facing a veteran fighter that has big power in his hands and feet and great submission skills. Jordan will be seeking the KO, and if he can’t get it, he could find himself gassed in the third round. That is where you can look for Gonzaga to capitalize and score a submission victory. UFC 166 FREE PICK – Gabriel Gonzaga +165
