UFC 136 Picks & Predictions
HOUSTON, TX (TheSpread) – UFC 136 will take place this Saturday night and we have a few free picks to consider for this main card, which features a pair of championship contests.
UFC 136 places from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The main card airs live on PPV at 9PM ET. Here are three picks to consider for tonight’s card.
This is a tough contest to pick as the two are very evenly matched. In last January’s draw, I feel Edgar showed the better all-around skills, as he was able to mix up striking and wrestling, while Maynard relied on just a power punch. In this fight, Maynard has to show a good balance of striking and grappling to win. I also think Edgar has the better conditioning, and that will be the difference in this fight and get him a decision victory. FREE PICK – Frankie Edgar -150
Florian is a tough challenger for Aldo, as he is a very composed fighter that typically has a pretty good game plan. However, he has never faced a fighter the likes of Aldo, and that can quickly throw somebody off their game. I don’t see Florian having the skill set to neutralize Aldo. I think Aldo will stay composed and look for opening on the feet to slowly work Florian down before getting a TKO finish in the fourth round. FREE PICK – Jose Aldo -345
Stann is a tough fighter with a Marine background, so his mindset will never be in question. His best shot to win this fight will be by submission, as I see him struggling with the relentless takedown pursuit from Sonnen. Stann will have to find a way to submit Sonnen to win, which is possible, but in a 15-minute fight I expect Sonnen to be able to hold him down and grind out a decision win. FREE PICK – Chael Sonnen -255
