UFC on FX 5 Odds
MINNEAPOLIS, MN (TheSpread) – Two heavyweights look to get into the top-5 contender picture on Friday night as part of the main event of UFC on FX 5. Here is a look at the odds for the main card. View Real-Time Sports Betting Odds UFC on FX 5 will take place from the Target Center with the main card bouts airing live on FX at 8PM ET. The main event of Friday’s card features heavyweights Travis Browne (13-0-1) and Antonio Silva (16-4) meeting up. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Browne is the favorite to win this bout, as he has odds of -225 to win, while Silva has odds of +185. Browne has yet to lose in the UFC, but he hasn’t faced a lot of top competition either. Silva has lost to primarily the best heavyweights in the world, and is coming off a bludgeoning at the hands of Cain Velasquez. Silva has the bigger frame, but Browne has the striking edge. If this fight hits the ground, Silva should have the advantage. Cardio could play an issue as well, as Browne has tired when he doesn’t win early in the fight. In the co-main event, welterweights Jake Ellenberger (27-6) and Jay Hieron (23-5) collide. According to oddsmakers, Ellenberger is the favorite to win this fight, as he has odds of -355, while Hieron has a money line of +285 to win. Ellenberger is a short, but powerful fighter with good wrestling skills and knockout power in his punching. Hieron is more of a technical striker and thinner in his frame. The key for Ellenberger is to pressure Hieron and keep him on his heels. Hieron will have the reach and look to stick and move. Ellenberger likes to push a fast pace, and I don’t think Hieron will have the strength or skills to keep up. For the complete odds for the UFC on FX 5 main card, see below.
