UFC 152 Weigh-In Results
TORONTO, Ontario (TheSpread) – The weigh-ins for UFC 152 have concluded and the main event fighters have made weight for their respective bouts.
UFC 152 will take place from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto with the main card bouts airing live on PPV at 10PM ET.
The main event of this card is for the UFC Light Heavyweight title as Jon Jones (16-1) defends his title against former champion, Vitor Belfort (21-9). Belfort is a middleweight fighter that is accepting this fight on short notice to compete for the title. On Friday, Belfort hit the scales at 204.2 pounds while Jones came in at 204.6 pounds for the 205-pound limit. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Jones is the clear favorite to win this bout, as he has odds of -925 to win, while Belfort has been given a money line of +625. These two had a tame stare down after the weigh in and both are calm heading into the bout. Jones has the clear edge in size, but Belfort has the hand speed to knock any man out.
The co-main event of Saturday’s card is a fight to crown the first ever UFC Flyweight Champion. This bout has Joseph Benavidez (16-2) taking on Demetrious Johnson (15-2-1). Both men hit their mark on the scales on Friday as Benavidez weighed in at 124.4 pounds while Johnson hit the exact 125-pound limit. According to oddsmakers, Benavidez is the favorite to win this bout, as he has odds of -280 to win, while Johnson has a money line of +220. This fight should be a competitive one, as both are very difficult to finish. Both men are seeking their first UFC title, so look for each one to leave it all in the cage.
