Mayweather vs. Alvarez Pick
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Saul Alvarez finally collide tonight in the fight capital of the world. Here is our pick for tonight’s bout.
This fight will take place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and air live on PPV on Saturday, Sept. 14. The WBA (Super) Light Middleweight title and WBC & The Ring Light Middleweight titles will be on the line.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Mayweather Jr. is the favorite to win this bout, as he has odds of -280 to win, while Alvarez has a money line of +220 to prevail.
BOXING FREE PICK: Both men come into the bout without a loss on their record and Alvarez is a young, hungry fighter that seems to have a strong backing behind him. Mayweather is the legendary veteran that is getting the big payday, but is he still motivated to train at an elite level. Eventually, one would expect Mayweather to fall and if he is going to fall, it would be against a young, powerful and quick fighter like Canelo. However, Alvarez is lacking in the same fight experience that Mayweather has and it is by a large margin. Mayweather will easily be able to handle the environment and pressure, Alvarez may not. That could lead to an adrenalin dump as the fight moves along, which will allow Mayweather to pick him apart and fight to his strength. In the end, we see Mayweather picking up another decision win. MAYWEATHER VS. ALVAREZ PICK: Floyd Mayweather Jr. -280
