LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Saul Alvarez hit the scales on Friday for their championship bout on Saturday. Here is a look at the weigh-in results.

This fight will take place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and air live on PPV on Saturday, Sept. 14. The WBA (Super) Light Middleweight title and WBC & The Ring Light Middleweight titles will be on the line.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Mayweather Jr. is the favorite to win this bout, as he has odds of -280 to win, while Alvarez has a money line of +220 to prevail.

Saul Alvares, also known as “Canelo” hit the scales first. He weighed in at 152 pounds for the fight. Mayweather came in at 150.5 pounds. Canelo is expected to be the heavier fighters on Saturday night and this weight cut was likely more trying for him than Mayweather.

Following hitting the scales, Mayweather got right in Canelo’s face, as the two had a staredown for close to a minute, with both men smiling at each other. Canelo is expected to be Mayweather’s toughest challenge yet due to his youth and power.
