Evans and Ortiz fought for the second time, as the two fought to a draw in a previous meeting. This time around, Evans dominated the contest, landing a number of big punches to Ortiz before finishing the fight with a big knee to Ortiz’ sternum that was followed up by a series of punches. The referee was then forced to stop the fight.
According to oddsmakers, Evans had a money line of -450 to win. That means a wager of $450 on Evans will pay out an additional $100.
In the co-main event, Vitor Belfort knocked out Yoshihiro Akiyama in the first round of their middleweight contest. Belfort had an explosive striking outburst in the middle of the round that left Akiyama unconscious on his face. Belfort had odds of -300 to win the contest.
